Animal Crossing: New Horizons has been breaking records left and right, and now it's taken the crown for another title in Japan.

Believe it or not, in just over a month, Animal Crossing: New Horizons is now the best-selling physical Switch release in Japan of all-time. The previous record-holder was Smash Bros. Ultimate, which has sold 3.66 million so far. Animal Crossing: New Horizons is now sitting at 3.89 million physical units sold as of this week. To think that Animal Crossing beat out Smash Bros. in just over a month is pretty mind-boggling.

Just to be clear, this is just the physical units sold for Japan. The game has no doubt sold an insane amount digitally as well, but Nintendo doesn't share those figures.
