GN Version 5.0

Japanese game companies room6 and Hako Seikatsu are joining forces to create Yokaze, a new independent games label. The goal of Yokaze is to release games that invoke emotional experiences that immerse the player in another world. This will be accomplished through unique visuals, music, text, and gameplay itself. Yokaze will work with games made by indie devs and published by other companies.

To kick things off with a bang, Yokaze has revealed a slate of four different Switch titles. Two of these were already announced, and two others are brand-new. Check out quick info on each below.

From_ (created by Nakajima, release date TBA)

This is a world of water, surrounded by water. The postman working in that country still delivers letters to people today. One day, a "ridiculous thing" that comes with you. And the disturbing rumors that flow between people. Through each “feeling” connected by delivering a letter, he becomes aware of a fact.

Hate no Machina (created by Ozumikan Games, release date TBA)

I am alive Fragments of the world that once existed. Mossy junk stars. An ancient legend that became a fairy tale. I do not understand. I can't understand anything. Still, this world where everything is dead is where I live.

Boomerang warp action game "End of Makina" uses two controller sticks. It is a so-called Metroidvania game in which you throw through → warp to break through various enemies and gimmicks.

Makina receives the shining blue sword enshrined in the village. The sword had the power to throw the blade away and warp it beyond. The source of this power has not yet been clarified.

Ghostpia (releasing Fall or Winter 2020)

Isolated from the world by snow, a town lies barren near the farthest station. A town exists where ghosts flood the streets at night. But we aren't really ghosts. We are immortal. Unable to die, with our unending lives, we took to referring to ourselves like that. They say this is an ideal town. A true utopia for ghosts. “But is it really? Can you really call this place a utopia?”

This is Sayako, and her plight. For you see, Sayako is the only one in town who doesn't truly belong. All the while she is sharing a room with the mysterious new girl in town, Yoru. More than anything in the world, Sayako longs to return home to her hometown. To set off beyond the unfathomable vast desert of snow, beyond where nobody has ever gone. To the home she could only dream was out there.

To be able to remember what she has forgotten, the thing she holds the most dear. That is her dream. “In a hopeless town such as this, a useless girl like me can’t help but dream.”

Unreal Life (releasing May 14th, 2020)

A girl who can see the memories of the things she touches meets a talking traffic light. In order to gain back her memories, she sets off into a mysterious night town alongside the traffic light. Unreal Life is a mystery adventure game. The girl can see the past from the memories of the things she touches. Compare the past and present, and solve the mystery with the hints of information from the past.
