Plenty of Animal Crossing: New Horizons players are doing their best to work the stalk market. Those who have islands with stellar turnip prices want to spread the word to others, as it can lead to players visiting the island and leaving all sorts of gifts behind after their trip. Now we know some players are willing to spend real-life money for that visibility.

The Turnip Exchange fan-run website gives players a place to find others who are opening their gates for the best turnip prices. You can browse the site for free and visit any number of islands offering great turnip prices. If you're visiting the site to list your island as the go-to place for fantastic turnip prices, there's another way to get a leg up on the competition.

The Turnip Exchange website is part of the Warp World network, which has a Patreon. Those who pledge $5 to the Patreon can get priority listings on the website, meaning everyone who comes to the site will see your island first. Paying $10 will get you a custom background, while $15 gives you a custom URL. It seems this strategy is working off, as the Patreon had $1,000 worth of supporters in early April, and it now has over $13,000 worth in supporters.

As you might suspect, a lot of that money is going back into the site itself, as hosting costs are ballooning. The site is being visited by 250k-300k unique users a day, which will certainly make the bills pile up. It's just crazy to see how much of a real-life economy Animal Crossing is creating!
