GN Version 5.0

Indie game studio Drowning Monkeys Games announced today that their sophomore effort "Castle Kong" will launch on PC (Steam / Epic Store) June 5th, and on Nintendo Switch 1 month later, on July 5th.

Castle Kong is a love letter to the golden era of arcade gaming from the early 1980's. The player gets 3 lives (+1 bonus), and must traverse 22 levels comprised of 4 stages, and try to set the highest score possible before reaching the kill screen.

"I wanted to make a game that was easy to understand, but impossible to beat," says Drowning Monkeys founder Josh Chudnovsky. "Roughly 37 years after the launch of Donkey Kong in 1983, only 100 or so people had ever actually reached the kill screen on the original hardware. That's amazing."

To that effect, the company is also offering a $5000 bounty to whomever reaches the kill screen first. There are also cash prizes for the top 10 high scores reached on September 5th. The full payout as well as rules and regulations can be found at the companies website: http://www.castlekong.com
