Internet searches for the phrase "buy Nintendo" climb 890% during the pandemic

The Switch has been extremely hard to find for awhile now, and things were only made worse with the pandemic. While people have been staying at home to flatten the curve, they've also been looking to play some games to keep entertained. Turns out they're eager to play Nintendo's titles the most.

Marketing analysis company MiQ Canada has been keeping track of the hot searches during the pandemic, and far and away, Nintendo has cornered the gaming side of things. From week 1 to week 7 of the pandemic, the phrase "buy Nintendo" saw an 890% climb. To put that in perspective, during the same time frame, “buy Xbox” searches grew 80% and “buy PlayStation” grew by 70%
