Police in Taiwan have warned the public about the safeties of shopping online after they swooped in to arrest a Switch scammer.

A man, along with a group of accomplices, had been sharing listings for the Switch on Facebook groups. The group managed to woo 12 different Facebook shoppers into coughing up cash for the Switch units, but here's the problem. The group never intended to sell the Switch units in the first place.

The group and its leader would take the money, and then never ship out a Switch. 4 of the customers became suspicious of the sale, and they reached out to the police to find out what was going on. This lead to police freezing the leader's bank account, and then arresting him. Turns out the man had made nearly $5k through his Switch scams.
