Bubble Bobble 4 Friends' free content update hits Japan in Nov. 2020

Back in March 2020, Taito revealed that Bubble Bobble 4 Friends was getting a content update that would include new levels, enemies, and more. The update was announced as free, but no release date was given. Thankfully now that information is coming in.

We know for sure that this free content update is going to release in Japan sometime in Nov. 2020, so hopefully that means the same for the rest of the world. The update, among other tidbits, will include a new area called “Baron von Blubba’s Counterattack,” which features 100 new stages and the invincible enemy Baron von Blubba from the first Bubble Bobble. Baron von Blubba only appears in dedicated stages, and there's no way to defeat him. He'll show up once you start taking too much time to complete a level, and the only way to escape is to take out every other enemy.

The free update will include more content, but Taito isn't sharing details until a later date.
