Hotel ships a Switch back to a customer who accidentally forgot it, takes care of their Animal Crossing game as well

Service with a smile

I think most of us have left an item or two behind at a hotel when we checked out. A phone charger here or a pair of socks there. Unfortunately for Skylar Challand, they forgot their Switch!

Lucky for Skylar, the staff of the Hilton Garden Inn found the Switch that was accidentally left behind, and sent it back to the rightful owner. Not only that, they also did a bit of virtual housekeeping as well! Skylar had left Animal Crossing: New Horizons running, so the hotel staff saved his game and even downloaded the newest update! Talk about going the extra step!

That’s sweet. Little did the hotel staff know, the game was probably owned by a 40-year-old.

Once I forgot my 3DS at a campground (yurt) we had rented for a couple nights. The campground staff found it and called us. The voicemail said, “Hi we found a child’s toy, this game, that was left in your yurt.” My wife found that quite hilarious.

People like to make fun of the overly zealous Switch portion of the Nintendo fandom, but it's moments like these that are nice to see every now and then, showing a little bit of humanity and compassion beneath the veneer of rampant consumerism and Reddit Gold bait.

Now if only this could be applied to everywhere else in daily life and not just strictly because of cartoon animals, or hybrid game consoles... Dang, and there goes my fleeting thought of sincerity. OH WELL!
