A key visual for Re:ZERO -Starting Life in Another World- The Prophecy of the Throne has been revealed! This key visual was exclusively drawn for the game release by the series artist Shinichirou Otsuka!

Re:ZERO -Starting Life in Another World- is a series that was started by the author, Tappei Nagatsuki, in 2012 on the novel publishing website Shōsetsuka ni Narō (Let's Become a Novelist). In 2014, it was published by the light novel label MF Bunko J (KADOKAWA) and became a massive hit. The story revolves around the main character Subaru Natsuki, who is summoned to another world, and his personal growth as he protects those he loves with his ability to "Return by Death," which allows him to go back in time through his own death. The incredible popularity of the series can be attributed to its various charming characters, starting with Subaru. It became a TV anime series in 2016, and OVAs were released in Japanese theaters in 2018 and 2019. Season 2 of the anime version has been well-received and has been airing since July 2020.

The upcoming Re:ZERO -Starting Life in Another World- The Prophecy of the Throne is a tactical adventure game with an original story based around the first season of the Re:ZERO -Starting Life in Another World- anime, and was completely supervised by the series author Tappei Nagatsuki. The character designs were done by the series artist, Shinichirou Otsuka, and Subaru's Return by Death ability is an important aspect of the game system, much like in the original works.

Re:ZERO -Starting Life in Another World- The Prophecy of the Throne will be available for Nintendo Switch™, PlayStation®4, and Steam® this winter. The Day One Edition and Collector's Edition are now available for preorder.

One month after Subaru's new life in another world began, an emissary sent by the royal castle suddenly appears with news that the royal selection has been postponed, but offers no reason as to why. The postponement of this grand event that decides the next ruler of the Kingdom of Lugunica stirs Subaru and his friends into action. They return to the royal capital only to find that a sixth candidate has claimed their stake for the throne. But the Dragon Stone prophesizes that only five candidates would be chosen. With one candidate being an imposter, suspicions are immediately cast toward one woman in particular: Emilia.
