GN Version 5.0

In a day and age when games are taking up more space than ever before, the developers behind Warframe are heading in the opposite direction.

Digital Extremes has announced that a series of updates are in the works to revamp Warframe's visuals, while at the same time shrinking the game's file size. While we don't know how much smaller the game will get on Switch, Digital Extremes has said that there should be a drop in overall file size across all platforms.

The dev team is achieving this by changing how the game's texture data is compressed. A tech called Oodle Texture is being applied to roughly halve the size of textures with "negligible" visual differences.
