Nintendo reconfirms plans for "many games" on Switch next year and beyond

Fingers crossed for a Wii Music sequel

In news that shouldn't be surprising at all, yet is still exciting, Nintendo has confirmed that they're nowhere near done with Switch yet.

Nintendo president Shuntaro Furukawa held a briefing in which he talked about Nintendo's future efforts. The Switch is obviously included in those plans, and Nintendo is looking to release "many games" for the platform next year and beyond. Of course, we didn't get to hear any details on what those games are.

I hope they start diving into their long list of underused IP next year. Cause Switch is lacking franchise variety. Kinda tired of seeing Mario, Zelda, Pokemon, Fire Emblem, Xenoblade, and Kirby again and again...

Its time to whip up a new Donkey Kong, Star Fox, F-Zero, Pikmin, Wario Ware, Rhythm Heaven, Wario Land, Nintendogs, Kid Icarus, etc. Also for the love of god I hope Metroid Prime 4 and Bayonetta 3 are soon..

The fact that they even have to say that shows how people really don't understand how game development works

This exactly. I mean how can anyone expect devs to release games that quick especially in a pandemic time?

I think the biggest problem is that people can't see what they are working on and thus assume they have nothing in the works. It's almost as if Nintendo has a Direct button that they press and that creates the entire footage for the Direct.

I hope this isn't one of those cases where "many" is subjective and they actually mean "four" plus some WiiU ports.
