DANGEN Entertainment Announces Tokyo Game Show 2020 Details (Smelter and Batbarian: Testament of the Primordials on deck)

DANGEN brings a pair of Switch titles with them

DANGEN Entertainment has announced the details of its lineup at Tokyo Game Show 2020, including a new trailer and demo for Smelter, an action and real-time-strategy hybrid due out in early 2021 and Batbarian: Testament of the Primordials, a dungeon crawler full of snark and humor set to release on October 15th.

Smelter | Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PC (Digital) | 2021 Q1 Release

Smelter is a strategy, action-platformer combo inspired by the classics of the 16-bit era. Players will find themselves alternating between top-down strategic gameplay and action-packed platforming levels. You play as Eve, who is trying to uncover the mystery behind Adam’s sudden disappearance and discovers a mysterious talking armor called “Smelter” that synchronizes with her and grants her superpowers. In blazing 2D action stages, Eve must fight off enemies, climb walls, dash and unleash Smelter’s devastating elemental attacks that can be powered up through a skill tree system. The game shifts to an overhead tactical battlefield where players control Smelter on-screen with his faithful Zirm forces and must strategically prevent swarms of enemies, expand his territory, and build his mighty base in real time. As Eve follows Smelter and discovers the truth behind its origin and Adam’s mysterious disappearance, the player will experience two intense genres of gaming in one.

Smelter developer, X PLUS and DANGEN Entertainment will be holding two live streams during Tokyo Game Show 2020.

9/25(Fri) 12:00PM JST / 8PM PDT - X PLUS
9/26(Sat) 11:00AM JST / 7PM PDT - DANGEN Entertainment

Batbarian: Testament of the Primordials | Nintendo Switch, PC (Digital) | Oct. 15 2020 Release

Batbarian: Testament of the Primordials is an action-packed dungeon crawler full of snark and humor where players control a barbarian who has fallen deep into an eldritch abyss and must fight his or her way out using their blades, wits, and their bat buddy, Pip, who can magically light up the dungeon and help solve puzzles. Batbarian has a heavy focus on narrative where players are given dialogue choices with NPCs and are encouraged to create humorous conversations, which can also ultimately affect the outcome of the game. The barbarian levels up and is joined by several companions who will aid them in battle and help them escape the abyss. One distinct element of Batbarian is the various fruits and items that can be aimed and thrown with the right analogue stick, causing Pip to chase and interact with them in different ways, allowing the player to activate switches and solve puzzles. Batbarian features over 400 rooms of exploration, 20+ hours of evolving gameplay, 10+ bosses, 60+ minutes of pumping music and 30,000+ words of dialogue to explore.
