Dynasty Warriors 9 Empires announced for Switch

The Dynasty continues!

Combining the 1 vs. 1,000 action of Dynasty Warriors with the addition of strategic elements, including unit command, Dynasty Warriors 9 Empires sets players on a quest to conquer ancient China by both sword and strategy. Powerful Siege Battles enable commanders to deploy units to capture strategic points on the map like castles. Experiencing high-stakes fights at every turn, players can now take control of these central points on the battlefield through the use of fire attacks or other stratagem, siege weapons, and, at times, simply by force as commanders execute their strategies and attack enemy troops by issuing vital commands to units throughout the skirmish.

Dynasty Warriors 9 Empires was revealed by Koei Tecmo during their TGS 2020 Online showcase. The game is set to launch for Switch in early 2021.

I'm curious how this will run on Switch, because DW9 was very poorly optimized for other systems. That aside, I really disliked DW9, but love Empires, so I'll probably give 9 another chance this way.

Woah Koei Tecmo is also putting this on Xbox. They almost never put games on that system.

Every Dynasty Warriors game since DW5 has come on Xbox, they also put some other games like Attack on Titan or some Warriros spin-offs on Xbox

I guess I just kind of forget that they sometimes put Xbox One games out.

These are all the Koei Tecmo games released for the Xbox One.
Attack on Titan
Attack on Titan 2
Dead or Alive 5: The Last Round
Dead or Alive 6
Warriors Orochi 3: Ultimate
Warriors Orochi 4
Dynasty Warriors 9

Maybe they managed enough sales with Orochi 4 to risk another game on Xbox One or it's due to the compatability with the new consoles.
Anyway hopefully it all goes well in the end. Smile

I have Samurai Warriors 1 on the OG Xbox and 2 on 360 (this one was my first Warriors game). The Xbox was my preferred system to play them on until they finally started going on Nintendo systems with Samurai Warriors 3 on Wii, Samurai Warriors Chronicles on 3DS and Warriors Orochi 3 on Wii U. It was Nintendo systems that were missing out the most.

Yea those games started coming to Nintendo just as I was getting back into Nintendo consoles. Good times. Smile

Dynasty Warriors 3 and 4 were both on Xbox as well. Xbox didn't get any XL expansions, though, and didnt get 4E or 7E. But yeah, it's really not surprising its coming to Xbox.

Now had they been surprised its releasing on Xbox Series X in Japan, as i dont believe any Xbox releases have come out in Japan prior, then there would be some merit to the statement.
