While mainline Monster Hunter games have proven to be extremely popular, the Monster Hunter Stories spin-off didn't find that same success. It wasn't a failure by any means, but it didn't get anywhere near the same heights as other titles in the franchise. That's why many were surprised to see a sequel announced for Switch.

Wondering why Capcom decided to move ahead on a follow-up? Turns out it's all because of us! In an interview with RGJ, producer Ryozo Tsujimoto said fans of the first game are directly responsible for the follow-up.

“We actually got a lot of feedback from fans who really loved the first game. They really wanted a sequel so we decided to make it happen.”

Thanks to Dondom95 for the heads up!
