The Minecraft movie adaptation has been delayed...again

Crafting this movie just doesn't seem to be working out.

GN Version 5.0

The Warner Bros. live-action film adaptation of Minecraft has had countless road[blocks] in production since the initial project announcement way back in 2014. With the latest release date previously being set for March 4th, 2022, another delay has been confirmed...this time, indefinitely.

Between the COVID-19 pandemic and the project losing its writer and director just last year, it seems we'll have to wait quite a bit longer to see what Minecraft will look like on the big-screen. Hopefully the film isn't headed towards a permanent cancellation.

The plot for the Minecraft movie "[tells] the story of a teenage girl and her unlikely group of adventurers. After the malevolent Ender Dragon sets out on a path of destruction, they must save their beautiful, blocky Overworld."

Check out last year's Minecraft blog post to see what plans were before the latest delay. They seemed so excited about the news...
