Reports are coming out from Japan concerning Rika Matsumoto, the voice actress for Ash in the Pokemon anime. According to the reports, Matsumoto has been involved in some fishy business with Japan's pandemic relief grants.

Rumor is that Matsumoto rounded up 6 people and had them deposit their pandemic relief grant ($960) into her bank account. Japan is offering support to artists during the pandemic to help offset issues they've had with work. A former manager was included in that group without her knowledge, so she reported the situation to the authorities, as the payments should be going to each person individually.

Matsumoto refutes the claims, saying she was just holding onto the money. As to why she was holding the money, no one has an answer to that for now.
