Elden Pixels announces Alwa's Awakening for NES

From Switch to NES!

GN Version 5.0

Alwa's Awakening on the Switch might look like an NES game, but there's a lot going on that would bring the NES to its knees. Getting the game to run on the NES would take some serious effort, but the team behind the game is up to the task! They're working on a real NES port right now, and you can see how it's coming along above! More details are coming next year, but you can read a work-in-progress update from the dev team below.

Alwa’s Awakening originally started as an NES game back in 2014 but due to a bunch of reasons we changed direction and decided we wanted to make a traditional game that could release on modern consoles instead (to be completely honest, our Assembly skills pretty much sucked). Now a bunch of years later our dream is finally coming true! Alwa’s Awakening is releasing on a real NES cartridge complete in box with manual in 2021!

We’ve hired talented NES programmer Brad Smith (rainwarrior) who’s already released a NES game called Lizard (which you definitely should check out) so the NES version will be us remaking the design, levels, art and music so it’ll fit the NES constraints and Brad will put everything together as the lead programmer. And finally, to create the NES release we’ve signed up with publisher Retro-bit. We’re ridiculously excited to share more about this project in 2021 but for now please check the making-of video we’ve put together and make sure you sign up for the public beta!
