Dear Reader:
Capybara says they always intended to bring GRINDSTONE to Switch at some point
GRINDSTONE has been on the Apple Arcade service for a year now, but the game has made the jump to Switch as of today. While we knew the game was coming, it's always nice to have a surprise launch!
GRINDSTONE's Switch version was originally announced back in August of this year, but Capybara had already been toiling away on the port for awhile by that point. According to an interview with Polygon, Capybara game director Dan Vader said the team always envisioned GRINDSTONE making the jump to Switch.
“When we felt we had somewhat of a rhythm going [with Grindstone’s release schedule], we were like, ‘OK, now let’s talk about Switch. That ended up being many, many months after launch.”
While GRINDSTONE can be played in handheld mode using the touchscreen, Capybara also went all-out for those who want the docked experience. You can play on TV with a controller, and enjoy a reworked layout that takes better advantage of the screen real estate.
