Pikmin 3 Deluxe is the fastest-selling franchise installment in Japan, and is soon to be the best-selling entry

That's what we like to see!

Pikmin 3 Deluxe may not be blowing the sales charts away like Animal Crossing: New Horizons, but it's not a failure by any stretch of the imagination. As a matter of fact, the game is putting up some of the best numbers the franchise has seen in Japan.

With this week's Japanese sales numbers, Pikmin 3 Deluxe managed to sell 499k physical units so far. Considering the game released at the very end of October, that's quite an impressive number for the franchise. It also makes Pikmin 3 Deluxe the fastest-selling entry in the franchise for Japan.

The way data is trending, Pikmin 3 Deluxe will soon be the best-selling entry in Japan as well. Pikmin 2 sold roughly 480k units, while the original Pikmin did over 500k. Pikmin 3 Deluxe is at 499k, but again, that's just physical numbers. For all we know, Pikmin 3 Deluxe could be the best-selling entry already when you factor in digital numbers.

nice, Nintendo now end the sufering of Pikmin fans like Arlo and release Pikmin 4 on Switch or it sucessor.

The Switch really is a powerhouse. 1 and 2 originally released on the Gamecube and ad much as we all love it, it was third best sales wise. The 3rd originally was Wii U so no surprise why it didn't do very well. (although I own it) but the switch... People love to play games on this system

I did not care for this version, but I really did like the original Wii U one. I also loved the first two Pikmin games so much. Just replayed the first one in Japanese some months ago. The whole franchise really is underappreciated.

Hopefully we'll have more than 3 people working on 4 now

I STILL have to go back to my Wii U and beat this game. Glad it is doing well on Switch.
