Kingdoms of Amalur: Re-Reckoning's physical release will include the full game on the game card

Kingdoms of Amalur: Re-Reckoning was announced for Switch the other day, and THQ Nordic revealed that there would be both digital and physical options. For those of you planning to go physical, the news gets even better.

In a recent tweet, THQ Nordic shared a new tidbit about Kingdoms of Amalur: Re-Reckoning. The physical copy of the game will pack in the full game. That means no extra downloads are required to get into the experience. Plenty of Switch physical releases require a download to work, which makes it that much nicer that Kingdoms of Amalur: Re-Reckoning isn't one of them.

I can’t remember if I tried this game out on Xbox 360 way back when. I might pick it up on Switch.

The file size is 30GB on other platforms. I can't see THQ Nordic using a 32GB cartridge, maybe they will. If so, it'll be one of the very rare exceptions. Witcher 3 I can understand, as it's a well known game and well received critically. Kingdoms of Amalur: Re-Reckoning is neither, with scores around 70%. Switch games take up less space and maybe they compressed it to fit on a 16GB cartridge, we'll see. Still, a 3rd party Switch game getting a physical release and all on cartridge is to be commended.
