Super Mario 3D World's Bowser's Fury mode takes roughly 3 hours to beat, and 6 hours to complete 100%

Pretty sizable content!

Ever since Super Mario 3D World + Bowser's Fury was announced, people have been wondering just how beefy the experience is. We finally have those details to share, along with some other tidbits. Check out the info round-up below.

- takes place in one giant world closer in style to one of the kingdoms from Super Mario Odyssey, but bigger
- there are smaller subsections in a large, seamless world
- travel from section to section via Plessie
- each section has unlockable Cat Shines that you get for completing an objective, including hidden ones
- you can point and click Bowser Jr. toward powerups he can unlock
- takes roughly 3 hours to beat, and 6 hours to complete at 100%

Just as a side note, the original source for this information has had hands-on time with Super Mario 3D World + Bowser's Fury, and they shared impressions from their time with the game. The original version of their article included the information on how long it takes to complete Bowser's Fury, but that information has since been removed.

You seriously still think Smash Ultimate is a port of Smash Wii U, after all this time, when that's blatantly not the case? And ignoring how many of the 3rd party characters are well worth their spots? Joker I get not liking due to that feeling like a big ad, but besides that... Wow. Hell, the fact it doesn't even have as much solo options as Smash Wii U (no orders or true all star for instance) should be outright proof it isn't a enhanced port in the slightest

That works for me. Never played 3D world for reasons I still don’t know. And this add on is making it seem more than worth it.

That’s very short, but I didn't expect Nintendo to be generous. They don't do generous.

It doesn't seen that bad, on howlongtobeat it said 3D world was 10 hours to complete, 40 hours to 100%, adding an extra 3-6 hours to it sounds pretty good, it seems to be like how Future Connected was to Xenoblade DE.

That's actually a little longer than I thought it would be.
And those 40 hours to 100% are there because of the insane final level and the fact that to 100% you need to beat every stage with every character. Removing that, the completion time should be about 20h.
So instead of 10 and 20, now it's 13 and 26. A 30% increase in game content, not counting the online multiplayer.

But certain people will always find a way to complain. They must be a ton of fun at parties...

Are they removing the need to beat the stages with all characters?

I don't think so. I just mentioned how long it takes if you don't do that and that the time difference is significant.

Kinda like how completing Breath of the Wild and doing everything but the Korok seeds makes a huge difference in time and sanity.

Anyway, sorry for the confusion.

Ah, ok, but the difference is in 3D World you unlock some of the best levels in the game instead of a golden turd. If you have a few extra controllers, you can finish the levels with more characters by starting multiplayer just as you reach the end and run ro the flag with the whole team.

Not really. You don't need to beat all levels with all characters to unlock anything beyond another star on your game profile. So while better than a golden turd, it's not by much

Ah, that's right, sorry. You just need all green stars, stamps and golden flags. And I'm actually not sure the reward is better than the Korok seeds one, but it's at least easier to accomplish.

No worries Smile

That's a tough call. One is $hit, but looks like a star. The other is $hit and looks like $hit. One can be considered better by the way it looks. The other can be considered better by its honesty. Tough call.

Dawn... I still need to beat that Final level, I think I spend more time on that stage then on some worlds.

Me too oO
I'll be doing it on Switch. Maybe the faster characters will make it a bit easier.

I originally didn't had any intention of getting this game again, but Bowser's Fury looks a lot of fun and my WiiU is kinda busted, it's not working with the TV anymore, so I'm getting tempted....

I'm sorry for your Wii U, mate Sad
I wasn't going to get it either, but my son and wife will also play it. So it's out of my hands.

Anyway, happy gaming Smile

I could only beat that level with Rosalina because her spin move in mid air gives her extra air time. Try it!

That's a good idea. I basically never play her or Peach because my wife takes them for herself. So I only tried it with Toad and Luigi. I'll be giving it a shot once they sell the download codes for the game in Brazil Smile

Quality over quantity. It might be just a test run for how they structure their next 3D Mario game. At least it's bundled with a bigger game unlike Metal Gear Ground Zeroes

True! I paid $5 for Ground Zeroes and it was about $4.50 too much

Really? I think Smash Ultimate is pretty generous.

You mean Smash WiiUltimate. And since(though including the Wii U version), they've been charging for 3rd party characters that deserve no place, whatsoever, in Smash.

Hey I'd rather take this than Funky Kong, the 4 extra bite sized levels in Captain Toad or the 2 extra hours of gameplay Pikmin 3 Deluxe added...

This extra content seems about on par with Future Connected or the revamped battle mode, double item changes and extra characters for Mario Kart 8 Deluxe.

The fact that 3 to 6 hours of brand new game play is the only Nintendo game we've known about for 3 months and for 2021 so far has me slightly worried.

EDIT: People thinking Ultimate is a Wii U port are taking crazy pills

We had the same issue in 2019 and then suddenly we got the Link's Awakening remake, Astral Chain and Super Mario Maker 2 so I'm not too woried so far.
