Splatoon 2 will be receiving an update on February 24th, 2021. This will bring the game to Version 5.4.0, and the update will contain mostly game-balancing adjustments. Despite Splatoon 3 being announced recently, the update currently doesn't seem to contain any information or tie-ins with the new announcement; this update just seems to be something more minor, as Splatoon 2 was last updated back in October 2020.
