Why does the Wii lack quality third-party efforts?

I would agree with this statement if we were talking about the Wii a year ago. Now, I feel like there have been some substantial third party efforts on the platform. Are third parties up to the level I would like them to be, and have seen them perform at…no. Are they continually getting better…some are. There are a few third party Wii publishers that are going to put out garbage no matter what. There are others who genuinely try something new, fun, and different. If we want the third party shovelware to go away, we have to stop buying it.
