THQ CEO Brian Farrell was at the Goldman Sachs Technology and Internet Conference, and he had a bunch of interesting info to share.

- de Blob has sold over 700,000 worldwide, retaining the original price of $50
- Big Beach Sports has sold over 1.3 million worldwide
- THQ has an unannounced Wii game that is “very focused … niche”
- THQ sees Nintendo as the competition: “The competition on the Wii right now is from Nintendo. That’s what we’ve got to attack. The people who buy Nintendo games, [we want to] get them to buy things like de Blob.”
- THQ is bringing their “biggest brands” to the DS, and see new opportunities thanks to the DSi features

Thanks to SuperPhillip for the heads up!

Mr. Farrell also discussed how THQ is trying to recover from a rather rough period. Obviously, the company has plans on where to go from here.

“It’s making sure with the key releases of the year … that we absolutely nail the quality, the timing, the marketing buzz, the presence at retail. If you do those things right, you win. We know that, we’ve done it, we just have to do it consistently on a more select number of titles.”
