The Snack World animated series begins airing in France

Looking like a snack!

We know that The Snack World is going to make its way around the world due to various localization postings and job listings. We just don't know when to expect it, other than somewhat soon. Today we find out that our friends in France don't have to wait, as the Snack World animated series is already airing there! The series just kicked off, and you can check out the French intro above.

Snack World, the scrumptious cross-media project from LEVEL-5, is ready for delivery in 2020

Yet another confirmation of localization

LEVEL-5 abby Inc. has sent out the following email to confirm Snack World's release outside of Japan. The email doesn't specifically state that the Switch game is coming, but there's no doubt it's part of the efforts.

From the creators of YO-KAI WATCH, Ni No Kuni, and Professor Layton, journey to SNACK WORLD, a nutty place where mythology, fairy tales, and technology are fusion fare! When an evil mogul wrongs the young hero Chup, the boy and his bite-sized crew embark on an epic adventure to seek justice. The smash hit SNACK WORLD video game debuted in Japan on Nintendo 3DS platform in 2017 and on Nintendo Switch in spring 2018. The companion consumer products line won Best Japanese Licensed Character (New Face) at the Licensing Japan Character and Brand Licensing Trade Show in April 2018. The tasty franchise continues to dominate at Japanese retail and indicates similar success abroad.

The Snack World game/anime look set for localization

Get ready for a lot of snack-related jokes in these blurbs...

What's up with localization companies leaking news lately?! Furthermore, why does it seem to only happen to Level-5!?

Localization company 3Beep currently has a job posting on their site that outright confirms localization of The Snack World, and that goes for both the game and anime. The headline of their job post flat-out says so!

3Beep is working with Level-5 to create the English language versions of the television series and video game.

While it's likely the 3DS version of The Snack World is going to be left in Japan, The Snack World: TreJarers Gold for Switch seems very likely the target of localization.

Level-5 running special holiday campaign in Japan

Since Level-5 doesn't have any big holiday titles, they're instead offering some special deals on already-released titles for the holiday season. From December 3rd to January 31st, those who buy either The Snack World: Trejarers Gold or Layton’s Mystery Journey: Katrielle and the Millionaires’ Conspiracy DX can get a special notebook. They can also enter a lottery where the following items can be won.

- 30 000 Yen in Nintendo eShop pre-paid cards (3 winners)
- a set of 20 Trejaras, from the 1st series (reprint, The Snack World) (50 winners)
- complete set of 6 Nazotoki Charms (Layton Mystery Journey) (50 winners)

The Snack World: Trejarers Gold releasing in South Korea

Well here's an interesting find. The Snack World: Trejarers Gold has received a rating for release in South Korea. The last time Level-5 announced a localization for South Korea, it was quickly followed up by a Western release announcement as well. Let's hope we see the same thing happen with The Snack World: Trejarers Gold!

The Snack World: Trejarers - another commercial
