Senran Kagura Peach Ball will not be censored in the West

Get ready to have a ball

There seems to have been a wave of censorship lately in games, which has caused fans to worry that their favorite upcoming titles are going to be tweaked beyond recognition from their original Japanese release. That is not the case with Senran Kagura Peach Ball. Marvelous has confirmed that the localized version will not be censored, and is content-complete with the Japanese release.

SENRAN KAGURA Peach Ball Confirmed for North America

Senran Kagura goes full-tilt

Torrance, Calif. – April 5, 2019 – XSEED Games, the independent-minded publishing brand of Marvelous USA, Inc., today announced that the publisher will be bringing the frantic pinball and playful fun of SENRAN KAGURA Peach Ball, the latest entry in the genre-spanning SENRAN KAGURA franchise, to North America for the Nintendo Switch™ system this summer. The title will be available digitally in the Nintendo eShop for Nintendo Switch and with a limited physical release available for pre-order at XSEED Games’ online store and other select retailers, both priced at $39.99.

Clothes-shredding brawlers, rhythmic cooking contests, sunny water gun fights, massage therapy – what’s left for the shinobi students of SENRAN KAGURA to try? Well, there’s always pinball! However, Haruka’s “experiments,” conveniently located in the local arcade, have once again caused havoc for the girls. This time, her concoction has mentally turned some of her fellow shinobi into animals. The only way to reverse the effects is by using the mystical Peach Ball, which just so happens to fit perfectly in a pinball machine.

Plunge into this new adventure and flip, bump, spin, or ricochet the Peach Ball into the confused shinobi to return them to their normal selves. With customizable tables, special minigames, a story mode, and fan-favorite additional modes including diorama mode and the Dressing Room, SENRAN KAGURA Peach Ball is set to be one of the hottest pinball games yet.

About SENRAN KAGURA Peach Ball

So...this is going to take some explaining. Haruka, the mad scientist of Homura’s Crimson Squad, is up to her usual experiments again, brewing up mysterious concoctions with unknown effects. Unfortunately for her fellow shinobi, she’s chosen the local arcade she works at as her laboratory, storing her experiments in the bathroom. After an accidental outbreak infects five of her shinobi friends, she learns that her latest concoction can transform those exposed it into animals, at least mentally.

Now, with Asuka, Yumi, Yomi, Ryona, and Murasaki causing wild havoc in and around the arcade, Haruka has devised a way to return these shinobi to their senses – the mystical Peach Ball. Applied to a subject’s body repeatedly, with the proper vibrational force, it can undo the effects of her experiment. Conveniently, it’s just the right size for a pinball table. Now all Haruka needs is a skilled assistant to operate the table, bopping each shinobi girl with the ball until she comes around.

SENRAN KAGURA Peach Ball is developed by HONEY∞PARADE GAMES, Inc. and will be published by XSEED Games for Nintendo Switch™ in North America this summer. The title will be available digitally in the Nintendo eShop and with a limited physical release available for pre-order at XSEED Games’ online store and select retailers for $39.99. This title is rated "M" for Mature by the ESRB on Nintendo Switch™.

Senran Kagura creator talks about the Peach Ball presentation shutdown fiasco, says there's a 'good chance' the next Senran Kagura series will hit Switch

Senran Kagura series producer Kenichiro Takaki recently sat down with Inside-Games to talk about all things Senran Kagura. The interview started off with a snippet about the craziness that went on with the first big Peach Ball: Senran Kagura presentation.

For those who don't remember, the presentation featured both gameplay and real-life women who were scantily-clad. At one point, it seems things got too risque, and the presentation was shut down by YouTube. Takaki looks back on the experience in the snippet below.

“We did try to be careful not to get banned, but ended up getting banned in the end… which really isn’t good, but it made me a little happy [laughs]. When we got the ban people on Twitter were like ‘they got banned lol’ so then others were like ‘what, what?’ and then the viewer count for the side that didn’t get banned over at NicoNico went up a lot [laughs].”

Peach Ball wasn't the first Senran Kagura game on Switch, and it appears it wont be the last. When asked if the next Senran Kagura series would come to Switch, Takaki offered up the following.

“I can’t say anything concrete for now, but yeah, there’s a good chance.”
