Untitled Goose Game's soundtrack is now available to stream

Some honking good tunes

A ton of work went into making Untitled Goose Game's soundtrack. Composer Dan Golding worked on an insane amount of variations for Debussy's tunes, making sure whatever you were hearing would fit the on-screen action. Now you don't even need to play the game in order to appreciate that work.

You can now listen to Untitled Goose Game's soundtrack through a number of official sources. Apple Music, Spotify, and the iTunes Store are all offering the lovely audio experience, and you can get links to each one here.

Untitled Goose Game's devs on treating the goose's movements as a performance

The performance of a lifetime

Untitled Goose Game turned out to be bigger than developer House House could have ever imagined. The game has found all sorts of success, garnering major praise from critics and big sales from gamers the world over. Its been quite the journey for one mischievous goose.

In an interview with Gamasutra, Nico Disseldorp of House House talks about how the game came together. In one portion of the interview, we learn how the team approached the actions of the goose. Things were handled in a pretty unique way, which you can read up on below.

The goose’s verbs are the things we thought a goose does: honking, running, moving their neck, flapping their wings. We wanted players to have a lot of different things they could do with their goose body so that controlling the goose felt performative; as though the player was controlling a puppet for an audience, even if that audience was just the player themselves.

House House comments on Untitled Goose Game winning DICE's Game of the Year, says they're blown away

Un-honking-believable

Earlier today, we shared the results of the DICE 2020 Game Awards, which saw Untitled Goose Game take home Game of the Year. In a follow-up tweet, developers House House shared their thoughts on winning the honor, which you can find below.

This is such an incredible, surreal honour. We regrettably couldn't make it to DICE in person, and we had a hard time recording an acceptance video because (looking at the other nominees) it was impossible to imagine actually winning. We're blown away.

Untitled Goose Game LEGO Ideas submission hits 10k supporters, now officially under review

One step closer to reality

On Jan. 21st, 2020, we posted up about a LEGO Ideas submission for an Untitled Goose Game LEGO set. Just 9 days later, and the set has received 10k supporters on the LEGO Ideas website.

What's next for the set? Now it will be officially considered for release by the LEGO bigwigs. They'll have to talk to House House to get approval, and actually formulate how to create this set and its pieces. Obviously, there's some other discussions that need to take place before this idea becomes a reality, but at least we're at the next step!

Untitled Goose Game dev giving at least 1% of future revenues to Australian Indigenous groups

The goose is doing good

Untitled Goose Game developers House House have announced plans to donate at least 1% of their income to help Australia's Indigenous population. House House will be doing this through the Pay the Rent movement, which encourages donations to Indigenous groups.

"Our video games are made on stolen Wurundjeri land. We at House House will be paying at least 1% of our income to Indigenous groups, in perpetuity, as part of the Pay the Rent movement. We encourage others to do the same."

LEGO Ideas submission gives Untitled Goose Game a blocky makeover

The new goose on the block

The official LEGO Ideas website is a place where fans can showcase their ideas for official LEGO sets they'd like to see. The public gets to vote on these ideas, and then LEGO will pursue the winners in the hopes of making them into the real thing. We've seen it happen countless times with Legend of Zelda ideas, but now Link and the gang has some serious competition.

Untitled Goose Game has been a mega-hit, and fans are hungry for some official merch. Included among those plans could be a LEGO Untitled Goose Game playset, as long as things go well. The idea has already gotten the 100 votes it need to open up to greater support, and now it needs the backing of 1,000 people to be considered by LEGO. You can cast your vote for the project right here.

Untitled Goose Game composer discusses the game's far reaching success

A honking good time

Untitled Goose Game became a bigger hit than House House ever expected, racking up 1 million+ sales in roughly 3 months. The game is still getting a ton of love from all corners of the internet, and sales continue to pour in. In an interview with GamesBeat, Untitled Goose Game composer Dan Golding tries to wrap his head around the game's success.

“It was this weird, several stage process where for the first few days, almost the first whole week, we’re like, ‘Yeah, cool, people like this game. That’s great. It’s getting good reviews. Then I remember one morning I woke up and Chrissy Teigen had tweeted out a photo of her and John Legend [buying the game] and was just — I have no frame of reference to understand what’s happening.

I think there’s something about the game that speaks to this moment in time where the whole weight of the world often seems to be crushing people. And this game is just about a goose, you know? Nothing more, nothing less. If the game has done anything, it’s managed to create a little space of relief, which I think is fantastic.”
