Super Rare Games announces physical release for Lonely Mountains: Downhill

Super Rare Games has revealed their next Switch physical release. Lonely Mountains: Downhill is getting a boxed release, and pre-orders open on Feb. 18th, 2021. Read more details on the upcoming launch below.

We're proud to reveal our partnership with Megagon Industries and Thunderful Games to release this zen-like, physics-based downhill racing game in physical form for the first time on the Nintendo Switch™.

Only 5,000 copies total will ever be printed, which go on sale February 18th at 6pm GMT (10am PT/1pm ET) for approx £27 (excluding tax and shipping) - available worldwide exclusively at superraregames.com.

In typical Super Rare Games tradition, this rare print physical release includes all the current content on its cart, a full-colour manual, interior artwork, an exclusive sticker, and three trading cards randomly selected from the five-card set. All copies will also feature a slick collector's slipcover. Fans won't have long to wait, as Super Rare Games titles ship soon after going on sale.

Oh what a day! What a lovely day! Thunderful Publishing & Megagon Industries have revealed that season 4 of the Daily Rides content for Lonely Mountains: Downhill is barreling down the mountain and into your game today! FURY RIDE lets players kick up some serious dirt with its gnarly post-apocalyptic theme. Lonely Mountains: Downhill and the Eldfjall Island DLC pack are available now on Nintendo Switch™, Xbox One, PlayStation®4 and PC (Steam®).

Players looking to take on the challenge in FURY RIDE can unlock some awesome new outfits for their rider and a rad new paint job for their bike. The Scavenger outfit will have you battle-ready, and perfectly complements the Scavenger bike paint job, it’s a mad combo that offers maximum style. Are you more the cautious type? The Hazmat outfit will protect you from anything out in the wilderness, except your own bike crashes. The Prepper outfit is available for anyone who always wants to be ahead of the game. And finally, the Wastelander outfit will kit you out in full post-apocalyptic garb... witness!

Daily Rides is a cross-platform daily leaderboard competition. Each day a trail will be selected randomly, complete with new obstacles and shortcuts. Each 3-8 week season offers up a new theme with unlockable cosmetic rewards for participants. Do you have what it takes to dominate the season? I don't know that riding your bike on snow and ice is a good idea, but Lonely Mountains: Downhill wants to make sure you have the right equipment to do so. Some new Winter-themed DLC is up for grabs today, and you can read full details below.

Thunderful Publishing & Megagon Industries are happy to reveal that the next free Daily Rides season for Lonely Mountains: Downhill is dropping today. Daily Rides Season 3 is titled Winter Rides and brings with it some fun new unlockable outfits and accessories! Lonely Mountains: Downhill and the Eldfjall Island DLC pack are available now on Nintendo Switch™, Xbox One, PlayStation®4 and PC (Steam®).

Players who take up the challenge of the Winter Rides season can unlock some cheerfully chilly winter-themed goodies. New clothing/cosmetic options waiting to be unlocked include the Winter Outfit, a blue and red ensemble which comes complete with a woolly bobble hat, puffer jacket and warming scarf sure to keep you going during those brisk outdoor descents. The Christmas Elf outfit in classically festive green and red will turn your rider into one of Santa's little helpers.

Speaking of the big man, there’s also a Santa beanie and Santa outfit. A fresh accessory is available in the Christmas Bag of Presents and there’s also a new Rudolph Paint Job for your bike, complete with antlers for a true reindeer look and feel. To top it all off there’s another new style of outfit, the Snowman. This magical festive garment works a little differently to standard outfits, transforming your character into an actual snowman with a stylish top hat. Winter Rides offers up a stuffed stocking of goodies to grab, so get out there and get riding!

- Major Bugfix: Fixed missing checkpoint on trail 2 and removed unnecessary checkpoint from trail 1 in the menu map.
- Bugfix: Fixed a bug that claimed Daily Ride rewards were only available after a restart.
- Feature Change: Daily Rides Unlock: Daily rides now only get unlocked after the player has finished the first trail on Graterhorn at least once in Explorer Mode.
- New Feature: Daily Ride Explanation: If the player opens the daily ride menu for the first time an explanation pop up appears
- New Feature: DLC Explanation: if the player opens the DLC mountain for the first time and hasn’t played Graterhorn yet, a pop up appears recommending to play the tutorial first.
- New Feature: Season Length Display: The remaining season length is now displayed in the season ranking screen.

To celebrate a year of Lonely Mountains: Downhill, not only is the Eldfjall Mountain DLC coming next week, there will be a big free “Daily Rides” update to the main game too!

The Daily Rides update will now feature all-new seasonal challenges. Starting this October, each day a random trail awaits with new routes, obstacles and shortcuts. Earn points in the new Halloween daily scoring leaderboards, rise up the season rankings and earn spooky themed rewards.
