We should have known that the cats would return to the No. 1 spot. Final Fantasy never stood a chance. It's been bumped down to the No. 2 spot this week, while Together! The Battle Cats clawed its way back to the top.

Once again, it's a double-dose of cats on the top of the Switch and 3DS eShop charts. I love that heavy-hitters like New Super Mario Bros. U Deluxe and Smash Bros. Ultimate have been relegated to spots 2 and 3 all because of a cat game.

Together! The Battle Cats launches for Switch in Japan on Dec. 20th, 2018, and includes a host of new features and content over the 3DS version.

Together! The Battle Cats - debut trailer

Together! The Battle Cats is hitting the Switch eShop in Japan next week, but today we get the debut trailer for the game. This version of the game features over 350 characters, a greater variety of stages, four mini games, co-op, and more.

Coro Coro told us a few weeks back that Together! The Battle Cats was going to release for Switch sometime in December. Looks like that info has held true, as an official release date for the title has been confirmed. Together! The Battle Cats will release on the Switch eShop in Japan on Dec. 20th, 2018. With the 3DS version of The Battle Cats hitting 600k downloads, it'll be very interesting to see how the Switch outing does.
