Trine 4 Crash Course Video Highlights New Features, Hero Abilities in Series’ Triumphant Return

A nightmare is coming

Walnut Creek, Calif. - Oct. 1, 2019 - Indie publisher Modus Games today shared an in-depth look at next week’s Trine 4: The Nightmare Prince, detailing expanded hero abilities, otherworldly baddies, and series firsts that players will discover when the adventure begins on Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, PC and Xbox One on Oct. 8.

Trine’s cunning thief Zoya, brave knight Pontius, and wise wizard Amadeus will each master new tricks as they reunite for Trine 4: The Nightmare Prince’s engrossing tale: Zoya will add elemental arrows to her quiver and levitating capabilities to her versatile rope; Pontius’ trusty blade will pack a shocking charge while his shield enables dream-like replicas of itself; and Amadeus will learn new conjurations plus a teleport-esque blink ability. These powerful discoveries and more are on full display in today’s trailer, which can be seen here: https://youtu.be/8uB1P7h1MJI

Players are free to tailor their journey through Trine 4: The Nightmare Prince to their liking through each hero’s distinctive skill trees. The game’s puzzles change depending on how many players are in a party, too; go it alone for total control and on-the-fly hero swapping, enjoy the series’ classic three-player design, or take on chaotic fun in the series’ first four-player multiplayer mode, where any combination of duplicate heroes is fair game.

Trine 4: The Nightmare Prince will arrive as a standalone experience, but thorough adventurers can experience this charming fantasy universe’s full story by picking it up via the Trine Ultimate Collection, which includes Trine Enhanced Edition, Trine 2: Complete Story, and Trine 3: The Artifacts of Power.
