Konami fully details latest patches for Contra/Arcade Classics/Castlevania Anniversary Collections

More than just Japanese versions

Earlier today we made mention of patches available for both the Contra Anniversary Collection and Castlevania Anniversary Collection. Today Konami follows up that news with confirmation of a patch for the Arcade Classics Anniversary Collection as well, and full details on what the patches provide outside of Japanese versions of games.

Following the surprise launch of the Contra Anniversary Collection last week, Konami Digital Entertainment, B.V. today announced details and the release of a patch for all three Anniversary Collections – Arcade Classics, Castlevania and Contra – that adds the option to play Japanese versions of numerous titles.

The free patch for the Arcade Classics Anniversary Collection, the Castlevania Anniversary Collection and the Contra Anniversary Collection is available to download on all platforms today.

In addition to the Japanese versions detailed below, the patch also includes the frequently requested Button Remapping feature for the Castlevania Anniversary Collection and Contra Anniversary Collection, plus minor bug fixes for Arcade Classics and Castlevania.

Japanese versions now available

Konami has just updated both the Castlevania Anniversary Collection and Contra Anniversary Collection. These updates include the Japanese versions of the games, which Konami said they'd be adding soon. These titles are listed in a separate menu via the main game selection screen, under the artbook option.

The Konami 50th Anniversary Castlevania Collection hits Switch tomorrow, bringing 8 classic Castlevania games with it. For those who grab the collection, you'll be happy to know that an update is on the way. Sometime after launch, Konami will updated the collection with the Japanese versions of these games. No word on when that update will be available specifically.
