Capcom releasing a half-scale Devil May Cry 'Dante' statue

Devilishly detailed

Consider yourself a big fan of Devil May Cry? Would you like to own a fancy statue of Dante? Well you're in luck, as Capcom revealed one at TGS 2020 Online.

The statue is a half-scale, so it's not as big as you or I, but it's still pretty sizable. This statue is made by Prime 1 Studio, and it will be part of the HD Museum Master Line. Dante's skin is made out of silicon, and is highly detailed enough to sport facial hair and pores! Continuing the extreme attention to detail, Dante is wearing an actual cloth outfit, rather than the clothing being sculpted as part of the base statue.

How much is this statue going to cost? Capcom didn't say, but similar statues in Prime 1 Studio are priced around the $2,000 mark, so get ready to pony up!

Capcom explains their approach to the Devil May Cry franchise on Switch

Devil's in the details

Devil May Cry has never had a big presence on Nintendo platforms, but that's changed a bit with Switch. Switch owners can now grab the first three games in the series, and there's even some extra content thrown in. Why has Capcom decided to handle the release of classic DMC games in this way? Capcom's Matt Walker explains in an interview with Siliconera.

I think one of the biggest drivers for taking a different approach on Switch for DMC3SE was that we had an opportunity to try and add to the game in a way that takes advantage of the unique aspects of the Switch. Specifically, the idea to add co-op to Bloody Palace – wherever you have your Switch you always have two controllers with you in the form of the Left and Right Joy-Cons. It’s the only setup where you can just pop it out of a bag, prop the kickstand, then hand a Joy-Con to a friend for spontaneous co-op demon slaying. Otherwise, it was just a matter of having the opportunity – when we started making this we asked ourselves what we could do to add anything to the experience, without detracting from the original game, and that’s how Free Style mode came about.
