Atelier Ryza: Ever Darkness & the Secret Hideout has become quite the hit for Koei Tecmo. The company has announced that Atelier Ryza: Ever Darkness & the Secret Hideout has sold 350k units worldwide so far. According to Koei Tecmo, Atelier Ryza is well on its way to being the best-selling entry in the long-running franchise. It'll have to beat out Atelier Sophie: The Alchemist of the Mysterious Book, which sold 370k.

The global release of the soundtrack celebrates the ongoing success of the JRPG game, which is a critically-acclaimed new entry in the beloved Atelier series; also one of the fastest-selling titles in the franchise’s history. The release of the Atelier Ryza soundtrack on Spotify heralds the first time that KOEI TECMO GAMES CO., LTD. has unleashed game soundtrack music to western audiences via a streaming service. The Atelier Ryza soundtrack features all of the BGM tracks from the game, totalling sixty-one atmospheric and evocative tunes to enjoy. Also included is the popular theme song “Rainbow Summer” by Japanese artist Sayaka Kanda.

An exclusive tapestry up for grabs

Atelier Ryza: Ever Darkness & the Secret Hideout has been a pretty big hit for Koei Tecmo/Gust over in Japan, which means there's more opportunities for other products tied to the game. Atelier Ryza character designer Toridamono has created some new art for one of those opportunities, the Atelier Ryza tapestry seen above. This tapestry will be sold exclusively at Comiket 97 this December.

A clearly-defined future

Gust, developer of the Atelier series, has had quite a bit of success with the most recent entry, Atelier Ryza: Ever Darkness & the Secret Hideout. Where does the series go from here? While Gust isn't ready to share full details, they did say that feedback from Ryza lets the team know they need to raise the base quality of Atelier games. On top of that, the Atelier Ryza theme of “summer and youth” was received well among players, so future games in the series will have clearly-defined themes.
