Nintendo UK eShop Highlights for September 2020

September saw some great new arrivals coming to Nintendo eShop like Hades, The Long Dark and Ori and the Will of the Wisps. Tell us what you've been playing!

Moon Studios working on a patch for Ori and the Will of the Wisps, which will also be included in the physical release

Fixes incoming

Ori and the Will of the Wisps on Switch is an amazing port no doubt, but it has a few hiccups and issues that need to be taken care of. Thankfully, Moon Studios has already said that they're working on a fix, and it shouldn't be too far out from launch.

"We're on top of all of that, no worries. A patch that should iron these things out will drop soon"

In equally good news, the team also confirmed that this patch would be included on the physical game card when that releases as well. When the patch goes live for download, we'll be sure to let you know.

Ori and the Blind Forest: Definitive Edition and Ori and the Will of the Wisps look set for standalone physical releases on Dec. 8th, 2020

Grab one, or grab both!

We already knew that both Ori and the Blind Forest: Definitive Edition and Ori and the Will of the Wisps were getting standalone physical releases, but we weren't sure when. While we still don't have an official public statement, Gamefly seems to know what's up.

Gamefly's website, which is absolutely stellar when it comes to this kind of information, shows both games as launching on Dec. 8th, 2020. That means those who don't want to cough up $150 for the Collector's Edition to get both games will be able to snag them individually in the not-too-distant future.

Digital Foundry - Ori and the Will of the Wisps Switch analysis

A miracle port

This is simply a stunning conversion to Switch. One of the most beautiful games on Xbox One retains almost all of its visual features on the Nintendo hybrid console - and does so while still targeting 60 frames per second. It's an astonishing technological achievement, but how is it possible? John talks with the developers and showcases the techniques and optimisations used to deliver the latest of Switch's miracle ports.

Thanks to Dondom95 for the heads up!

Standard physical releases for Ori and the Blind Forest: Definitive Edition and Ori and the Will of the Wisps coming this year

Something to look forward to

If you want to get physical versions of Ori and the Blind Forest: Definitive Edition and Ori and the Will of the Wisps, the only way to do so right now is in a Collector's Edition bundle that's priced at $150. If that's a bit too pricey for you, or you just want one of those two games, you'll be in luck later this year.

The official Ori Twitter account confirmed that standard physical releases for both Ori and the Blind Forest: Definitive Edition and Ori and the Will of the Wisps are on the way. They'll be out later this year, but no specific timing was given. We also don't know which retailers will be stocking these titles, so we'll just have to hang tight.

Ori and the Will of the Wisps soundtrack hits 10 million streams on Spotify

10 million streams and growing!

I caught this news yesterday as I was making my rounds, and I wished I had a reason to share it. Little did I know that reason would pop up today!

Ori and the Will of the Wisps is now available on Switch, which is reason enough to celebrate. With that said, the dev team has a second reason to cheer, as the game's soundtrack has now been streamed 10 million times on Spotify. It's an absolutely gorgeous soundtrack, so why not add a few streams of your own to that tally?
