GameStop's website adds listing for Dragon Quest Heroes I and II

Is it finally happening?

For a long time now, there have been rumors of Dragon Quest Heroes I and II seeing release in the West. The rumor keeps popping up through GameStop, as their internal computer system would make mention of the game from time to time. Nothing ever came of it though.

Now the rumor is back once again, but things are a little different this time. Instead of the listing popping up through GameStop's internal system, now there's an actual listing for the game on their website. As far as we can tell, this listing has only popped up recently. It has just one tiny sentence detailing the games, and a placeholder release date, but it's something!

Thanks to Mock Turtle for the heads up!

Dragon Quest creator Yuji Horii celebrates the series' 34th anniversary by thanking fans

34 years and going strong!

Today, on this very day, the Dragon Quest series has turned 34 years old. The series debuted all the way back in May 1986, and it's still going strong here in 2020. To celebrate the occasion, Dragon Quest creator Yuji Horii shared a tweet with some thoughts, as well as a screenshot of the original game running on Switch. You can see his tweet, as well as an English translation below.

I'd like to say thank you on Dragon Quest's 34th birthday. Back then, I tried to think of what would we could have the Dragon King say to most surprise players when they finally met him. We settled on "Join forces with me and I will grant you dominion over half of this world!" For me, between that moment and the character 'Yasu' turning out to be the villain in my other game, there are a lot of memories to look back on.

A huge thank-you to Styster for working on the translation for us!
