AGDQ 2020 features a two-player, one controller blindfolded speedrun for Punch-Out!!

Take that, Mike!

Punch-Out!! has been a staple of Awesome Games Done Quick for years now, but people keep finding interesting ways to run through the game. We've seen players tackle the game blindfolded before, but what you two players with blindfolds, and they're working together on one controller?! Watch the magic play out in the full segment above.

Actor Jon Bernthal thinks it would be cool to play Little Mac in a Punch-Out!! movie

Get Reginald VelJohnson as Doc Louis and I'm sold

Jon Bernthal has jumped from TV and movies to video games with an appearance in the Call of Duty franchise, but it turns out Bernthal would like to take a gaming character over the big screen. In an interview with Digital Trends, Bernthal says he'd like to take a crack at a silver screen adaptation of Punch-Out!!.

“What I’ve been playing with the kids is Mike Tyson’s Punch-Out. Little Mac, he’s really small, but that would be really cool I think — his rise up through the ranks.”

RUMOR - Punch-Out!! Wii's Sailor Moon Easter Egg cost Nintendo and Next Level Games millions, and got people fired

Well that's a crazy situation

If you follow along with the Boundary Break series, which is totally worth your time by the way, you'll have hopefully seen the episode on Punch-Out!! Wii. All kinds of fun things were discovered about the game, including a Sailor Moon Easter Egg that is near impossible to see when you're playing the game regularly.

Turns out there's a whole story in an of itself behind the Sailor Moon Easter Egg, and it's a crazy one. The Easter Egg would end up costing Nintendo and Next Level Games millions, and even got some Next Level Games' employees fired. That's the word from an unnamed source who was very close to the project.

Make sure to check out the video above for the full details on this insane behind-the-scenes story!

Impractical Jokers' Sal Vulcano sneaks in a sly reference to Punch-Out!! during an episode

Looks like Sal's an old-school Nintendo fan

Some people find the TV show Impractical Jokers to be among the funniest on TV, and others can hardly stand to watch a second of it. I happen to be in the group that finds the show hysterical, and I'll always leave the gang on whenever I see there's an episode airing. Lucky for me, Tru TV's schedule seems to be made up of 80% Impractical Jokers, so I can almost always catch an episode!

While I'm not sure how recent the episode is, I had to take a picture of one that I just saw over the weekend. As you can see above, joker Sal Vulcano is wearing a shirt with a bunch of numbers on it. If you're a longtime Nintendo fan, or one who's just obsessed with Nintendo trivia, that number should stick out immediately. For those who don't know, that's the code you use in the original Mike Tyson's Punch-Out!! to fight Mike Tyson himself!

New Mike Tyson's Punch-Out!! speedrunning record set

Watch MTPO in 15:10.11 (World Record) from Summoningsalt on www.twitch.tv

Ladies and gentleman, we have a new world-recorder holder. The time to beat in Mike Tyson's Punch-Out!! is now 15:10.11, as speedrunner Summoningsalt just pulled off that record two days ago. This is thanks to a new method for taking on King Hippo that eliminates the RNG aspect, which leads you to locking in the best time possible. This most likely means the overall time will continue to drop as more and more people learn this tactic.

Check out the Blindfolded Punch-Out!! Wii run from SGDQ 2019

Ridiculously impressive

The blindfolded Punch-Out!! run returned at SGDQ 2019, and this time it featured Punch-Out!! on the Wii. Check out the entire run in the video above, which is just as impressive as the run from years ago.

Mike Tyson has heard Nintendo is doing a new Punch-Out!!, but we're going to guess he's mistaken

Dream fight

Who do you think of when it comes to breaking Nintendo news? Does Mike Tyson even make the list? Well as of today, Mr. Tyson is apparently the authority on new Punch-Out!! games, and he says one is in the works.

I'm going to guess that Tyson is 100% wrong here. If I had to guess, I'd say that the news of Punch-Out!! coming to the Switch Online NES collection somehow made its way to him, and he misconstrued that as a new game. Seems like the most plausible situation to me.

Then again, maybe Tyson is in the know and I'm completely wrong. Stranger things have happened!

Thanks to Gerjet and Andreslop24 for the heads up!

How well did Nintendo's legacy titles sell on the Nvidia Shield store in China after one year?

Not exactly killing it

The Nvidia Shield store in China has gotten 4 legacy Nintendo titles throughout the last year. The lineup included Super Mario Galaxy, New Super Mario Bros. Wii, The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess, and Punch-Out!! (Wii). Wondering how they've sold after 365 days? Check out the data below.

Super Mario Galaxy - 8,042
New Super Mario Bros. Wii - 7,315
The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess - 4,998
Punch-Out!! - 2,406

Not exactly a warm welcome for these titles, but there's a portion of the data we don't have. How many people in China actually bought the Nvidia Shield?

Gaming Mysteries - Who did Glass Joe beat?

I don't know that I've ever seen so much research put into such a silly topic, which is why I absolutely love it. This video makes me want to get someone at Nintendo on the horn to get a clear-cut answer!
