Cate Blanchett reported to be playing the role of Lilith in an upcoming Borderlands film

That's a pretty high profile get!

The Switch is getting a big influx of Borderlands later this month with Borderlands: Game of the Year Edition, Borderlands 2, and Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel all on the way. That means plenty of newcomers to the franchise will get to meet Lilith, one of six Sirens, a group of women with unbelievable powers. Turns out actress Cate Blanchette is going to become quite familiar with Lilith as well.

According to a report from Variety, Cate Blanchett has signed on to play the role in a Borderlands feature film adaptation coming from Lionsgate. The project is being directed by Eli Roth, with Avi and Ari Arad producing through Arad Prods along with Erik Feig, who is also producing via his Picturestart banner. Craig Mazin, who won an Emmy for writing “Chernobyl,” has written the latest screenplay draft.

The film’s executive producers are Randy Pitchford and Strauss Zelnick, with James Myers and Aaron Edmonds overseeing the project on behalf of Lionsgate. Emmy Yu is overseeing the film for Arad Productions. Lucy Kitada will oversee the project for Picturestart.

Check out the Japanese cover art for Borderlands Legendary Collection and BioShock: The Collection

Shocking covers

2K has revealed the Japanese covers for both Borderlands Legendary Collection and BioShock: The Collection. The titles will see digital and retail release on May 29th, 2020, just like in North America and Europe. As for the XCOM 2 Collection, it appears that will be digital-only in Japan.

Take-Two wins NBA 2K lawsuit involving LeBron James' tattoos

A four year battle ends

Back in 2016, Solid Oak Sketches claimed to own copyrights to tattoo designs featured on the bodies of NBA stars LeBron James, Kenyon Martin and Eric Bledsoe, who all appear in the NBA 2K series. Solid Oak Sketches claimed Take-Two Interactive use unauthorized reproductions of those tattoo designs in their games.

In a legal battle that took four years, Take-Two has just now come out on top. While the lawsuit took a long time, the end result is a decisive victory for Take-Two, which could very well dictate how similar lawsuits go when it comes to digital representations of tattoos. It'll be interesting to see what happens to other pending lawsuits in this area as we move forward.

Bioshock: The Collection rated for Switch in Korea

Pretend to be shocked when this one is announced

Still not convinced that Bioshock: The Collection is coming to Switch? Perhaps today's news will finally push you over the edge.

In the last week, we've had not one, but two different reasons to believe that Bioshock: The Collection was coming to Switch. First up, we saw a rating for the game appear on the Taiwanese ratings board. Following that, a rating for a Switch version also popped up on the Brazilian ratings board. Now today, we can add a Korean listing for the Switch version into the mix.

This one isn't a question of if, but rather when. That rumored Nintendo Direct sure would be a nice place to announce this!

Brazilian ratings board lists Bioshock, Bioshock 2, Bioshock Infinite, and Bioshock: The Collection for Switch

Come to Daddy

Earlier in the week, the Taiwanese game ratings board added in Switch listings for Bioshock Remastered, Bioshock 2 Remastered, Bioshock Infinite: The Complete Edition, and Bioshock: The Collection. If that wasn't enough proof that Bioshock is coming to Switch, we now have another ratings board backing it up.

The Brazilian ratings board has just added listings as well, showing Bioshock, Bioshock 2, Bioshock Infinite, and Bioshock: The Collection for Switch. The dates on the listings don't make any sense, but each listing specifically mentions Switch when you click through to read the details.

I'd say the Bioshock collection of games for Switch is pretty much a done deal at this point. All we need is a Nintendo Direct to announce them!

Thanks to Sephiroth_FF for the heads up!

RUMOR: UK retailer says WWE 2K20 is coming to Switch

Pinning down a release?

WWE fans didn't get last year's WWE 2K game on Switch, which was disappointing, but perhaps not as disappointing as the previous efforts on the platform. The first and only WWE game on Switch was absolutely abysmal, and is considered by many to be the worst port on the platform. Is it a one-and-done situation for WWE on Switch? A recent listing shows that might not be the case.

Base.com has added in a Switch listing for WWE 2K20, but it doesn't feature any other details. It would certainly be nice if the game made its way over, and perhaps the team taking a year off could lead to a more solid project. We'll try to get word from 2K on the situation, but they'll likely remain quiet until an official public reveal is made.

NBA 2K20 heading to Japan

Welcome to the next

Take-Two Interactive Japan has confirmed that NBA 2K20 will release Sept. 6th, 2019 in Japan. We don't have specifics on which versions will hit Switch in Japan, as there could be Legend, Standard, and Digital Deluxe Editions. Hopefully that information will be cleared up soon.

Unskippable ads pop up in NBA 2K19

This is not going to go over well

An insane deal was recently running on NBA 2K19, which saw the game's priced dropped down to $4. Obviously tons of players jumped in on the deal, as indicated by the game's #1 spot on the weekly Switch charts. Wondering how Take-Two can afford to slash the price so low for a limited time? It looks like we might have found out one possible answer.

Players over on Reddit have noticed that NBA 2K19 is now forcing players to sit through advertisements before some games start. You can't hit the courts until you watch an ad for whatever the server deems appropriate. People complain about microtransactions and loot boxes, and rightfully so, but seeing something like this is next-level. We'll try to get comment from Take-Two on this matter.
