We've featured a decent amount of clips from The Late Show with Stephen Colbert over the years due to bandleader Jon Bantiste's deep appreciation for game music. He's snuck in medleys from all sorts of games into episodes of the series, but tonight, we're focusing on the monologue instead of the music.

There's a call-out to the Konami code during one of the bits from tonight's show, and you can see how the whole thing plays out in the clip above!

Frogger getting a live-action competition series on NBC streaming network Peacock

Toadally unexpected

NBC is looking to create a slew of new content for their streaming network Peacock, and one of their projects involves the classic arcade franchise, Frogger.

A new report reveals that a live-action competition series based on Frogger is in the works for Peacock, and 13 episodes of the show have been ordered. Contestants will be playing the role of the frog as they attempt to clear obstacles like traffic, alligators, and more. Challenges will test contestants' strength, strategy and problem-solving abilities, and the winner will take home a cash prize.

Solomon Program "How to Play" video series and DLC pricing details released

Konami has shared some new details on their upcoming free-to-play Switch title, Solomon Program. Turns out it won't be so free-to-play, as there will be a few content packs people can download for a price. The DLC lineup is as follows.

- ver. Zero: “The Thief Demon and the Witch” (free)
- ver. One: “War Cry of the Blade Dancer” Starter (free)
- ver. One: “War Cry of the Blade Dancer” Booster (2,000 yen)
- Roulette Chip (100 yen)

Momotaro Dentetsu: Showa, Heisei, Reiwa mo Teiban! original soundtrack launches in Japan on March 31st, 2021

Konami has announced that the official soundtrack for Momotaro Dentetsu: Showa, Heisei, Reiwa mo Teiban! will release in Japan on March 31st, 2021. The soundtrack is priced at 3,300 yen and will include 87 tracks across 2 discs. Those who buy the album will also get a special code that can be redeemed for a bonus in-game train.

Konami releases 2021 "Announcement of Executive Appointments, Official Personnel Changes, and Organizational Restructuring"


Konami, known for its beloved franchises such as Castlevania, Gradius, and Dance Dance Revolution, has released a document today revealing that they are changing some of the positions of their higher-up employees. In February 1st 2021, many employees will be given new positions due to the fact that Konami will be shutting down its Productions Revisions department. They claim that they are doing so "to respond to the rapid market that surrounds us."

In short, they are restructuring their company, and rather than having three separate production divisions, they now want to essentially merge everything into one division.

Konami just keeps racking up the sales with Momotaro Dentetsu: Showa, Heisei, Reiwa mo Teiban!. In yet another sales update, the game has now surpassed 2 million units sold. That includes both physical and digital options, but remember, the game has only released in Japan. When you factor in the initial Nov. 19th, 2020 release date, you see just how impressive the tally is!

Konami recently shared that digital sales and physical shipments for Momotaro Dentetsu: Showa, Heisei, Reiwa mo Teiban! had hit 1 million. While the digital units were indeed sold, the physical number was for units shipped to retailers. Konami has now confirmed that those units have been sold, meaning the game has surpassed 1 million units sold to customers overall.

Yu-Gi-Oh! Rush Duel announced for Switch

It's time to duel again

Konami has revealed that they're working on a new Yu-Gi-Oh! game for Switch. The game, titled Yu-Gi-Oh! Rush Duel, is based on the card game of the same name, and it ties up with the Yu-Gi-Oh! SEVENS anime. Players can Normal Summon any number of monsters in one turn, and draw until at least five cards are in their hand. The game will let players face off against characters that appear in the anime. No word on a release date at this time.
