Random Time! - Charles Martinet was once a rapping vampire for a tech company

In this 1986 corporate trade show video for ECAD Systems (became Cadence Design Systems) of Silicon Valley, Dracula and his Vamps perform The Dracula Rap. Dracula is played by Charles Martinet.

I always thought Mario was Martinet's biggest role, but I was clearly wrong. Nothing is going to beat this performance!

Charles Martinet had never heard of Mario/Nintendo prior to his audition, now feels like "the luckiest guy in the world"

Coming from a CBC interview with Charles Martinet...

"I had never heard of Mario, I had never heard of Nintendo, and all of a sudden, there I am, doing my favorite character in the world and I have been for the last 27 years. I feel like the luckiest guy in the world. I get to do what I love to do and work with wonderful people, and then to go around the world and meet people who love the games and Mario."

Never heard of Mario or Nintendo? That's a tough pill to swallow, but I don't know Mr. Martinet to be a liar! It's obviously he's super grateful for the role and loves the fans. I'll take your word for it on this one, Mr. Martinet!

It's also worth pointing out that Mr. Martinet will be at the Edmonton Comic and Entertainment Expo, starting Sept. 21st. You can take a trip to the event and spend some time with the man himself!

Charles Martinet shares his thoughts on Shigeru Miyamoto and more

On Shigeru Miyamoto...

He is one of the nicest people I’ve ever met in my life. Shigeru Miyamoto is (the creator obviously of Mario and Zelda) and took games from being this simple place, from being non-existent to existing with a plot, and a character, and a through-line for the first time, and then brought on side-scrolling, and then three dimensions.

It’s remarkable the amount of joy and happiness and work and fun he’s brought to the world. And he’s the nicest most kind considerate thoughtful wonderful human being you could ever hope to meet.
