Animal Crossing: New Horizons Edition Switch removed from Nintendo's website

Hopefully you already crossed this one off your list

Demand has been extraordinarily high for the Animal Crossing: New Horizons edition of the Nintendo Switch system, as units have sold-out everywhere since the console's release on March 13th in North America. Sadly, the listing for this edition has been completely removed from Nintendo of America's website, meaning it seems unlikely that it will be receiving a re-release anytime soon. Reprints have officially been confirmed for Japan however, so hopefully Nintendo performs a miracle in the future for fans looking to pick one up in the West.

PlayStation 4 outsold the original Switch model in Japan this week due to stock shortages, but the Switch Lite is still selling like hotcakes (10x regular Switch)

Sales data is switching up this time

Taking a closer look at the Japanese hardware sales data for this week, something strange is happening. Due to continued stock shortages of the regular Switch model in Japan from the coronavirus, Japanese gamers are resulting in purchasing a Switch Lite instead. While this has been happening for quite a few weeks now, this time is particularly interesting because of just how drastic the differences are. For the first time in a very long while, the PlayStation 4 actually outsold the Nintendo Switch. However, the Switch Lite sold 10 times as many units as the regular Switch, meaning Nintendo still reigns supreme overall. Check out the exact Japanese sales numbers for this week (March 2nd, 2020) below.

Nintendo Switch - 4,424 units
Nintendo Switch Lite - 46,161 units
PlayStation 4 - 9,584
PlayStation 4 Pro - 4,187

Nintendo Tokyo & Kirby Café Hakata are changing their business hours due to coronavirus

Business hours are being slightly adjusted at two Nintendo centric locations in Japan to prevent the spreading of the coronavirus. Nintendo Tokyo is being effected due to the hours of Shibuya PARCO being temporarily changed. The shopping mall's new hours (including Nintendo Tokyo) will be 11:00-20:00 JPT from March 3rd - March 15th, 2020.

The hours of Kirby Café Hakata are also being adjusted, with no reason provided. However, it's quite likely because of similar concerns. Kirby Café Hakata will now be operating from 11:00-22:00 JPT from March 12th - March 15th, 2020. Final orders will be accepted at 21:00 JPT. In addition, Kirby Café The Store Hakata will open from 11:00-20:00 JPT from March 4th - March 15th 2020, and will be closing for renovation March 9th - 11th.
