The Binding of Isaac: Four Souls Card Game now available at Target

The card game about a game

The Binding of Isaac: Four Souls is a multiplayer card game about sacrifice, betrayal and hoarding. Inspired by the hit video game Binding of Isaac, the official card game was launched on Kickstarter in June 2018. Each game includes: a rulebook, 340 cards, a six-sided dice, an eight-sided dice and 100 custom Binding of Isaac pennies.

In the game, 2-4 players take turns playing loot cards and using items to kill monsters that yield more items, loot, and sometimes souls. The first player to end their turn with 4 souls is the winner. Cooperation, barter and betrayal is encouraged. Once players have a better understanding of the games mechanics, you are encouraged to add the bonus souls, the Soul of Greed and the Soul of Gluttony, to your games.

Playtime: 30 to 60 minutes. For players 2 to 4+ players. Ages 13+.

If you can't get enough of Isaac, this card game might be the perfect fix. It's available right now through Target's website for just $30. You can grab yourself a copy right here!

Crystal Crisis gets a two-page advert in this week's Famitsu

Crystal Crisis is available in Japan as of today, and the publisher is spreading word with a two-page ad in the latest issue of Famitsu. I feel like Crystal Crisis slipped under the radar here in the states, but perhaps it'll find more success in Japan.

Umihara Kawase Fresh! now available on the Switch eShop

With a hefty price

In a very rare occasion, we saw a Switch game release physically before it hit the eShop. Umihara Kawase Fresh! has been available as a physical game for a couple weeks now, while the English eShop version was nowhere to be seen. That changes today, as the game is now available to purchase digitally. The game is priced at $40, the same as the retail version.

Umihara Kawase Fresh! not available on the Switch eShop in North America or Europe

Where are you?

Umihara Kawase Fresh's retail release was published this week, and customers have received their copies. In a bit of a strange situation, the eShop version in North America and Europe is not available. It's not often that we see a physical copy release, but the eShop version nowhere to be found. Hopefully this situation is remedied soon. We'll try to get comment from Nicalis on the matter.

An all-star cast of heroes has gathered to test their mettle in Crystal Crisis, a cute and chaotic new color-matching combat game! Crystal Crisis is presented like a one-on-one fighting game, but instead of kicking and punching, players attack by arranging colorful falling crystals and clearing them from the screen. Nicalis teasing a retail release for Ikaruga once again

Just release it already!

Nicalis has teased a retail release for the Switch version of Ikaruga time and time again, and they're up to their old antics on Twitter. If the above tweet isn't a confirmation that Ikaruga will get a retail release on Switch, I don't know what is.

Nicalis teases 1001 Spikes project on Twitter

1002 spikes?

Is it a new game? It's a remake of the previous title? No one knows, and that's how Nicalis likes it. They've put out the teaser video above for a project tied to 1001 Spikes. Many fans have been wondering what happened to the planned port of 1001 Spikes to Switch, and while we still don't know what happened to it, it appears Nicalis isn't done with the franchise.

The footage makes it look like this might be an auto-runner, which has us leaning towards a brand-new title in the 1001 Spikes series. Whether it's a numbered sequel or spin-off remains to be seen.
