Geoff Keighley has given Reggie Fils-Aime an amazing going away gift. Keighley had a special poster commissioned from wonderful artist Sam Spratt. I imagine that a lot of fans would love to have this poster as well. I know I'd order one right away!
Reggie can't take everything with him on his journey to retirement. In his most recent tweet, Reggie noted that his Master Sword display is staying behind at Nintendo for someone else to enjoy. I'm guessing Doug Bowser is the one who get's to wield the sword now!
Thank you all for the warm welcome to Twitter. I am packing up my office ... lots of memories here. pic.twitter.com/DzUdgbj9ZG— Reggie Fils-Aime (@Reggie) April 15, 2019
Reggie may be leaving Nintendo, but he's starting a new life on social media. As Reggie has one foot out the door, he's now joined Twitter to chronicle his life from here on out. It'll be quite interesting to see what Reggie shares on social media going forward!
In this episode, Did You Know Gaming takes a look at some facts, secrets, and history of one of gaming's biggest figures, Reggie Fils-Aime. Our look at Reggie covers his history in business including his work at Pizza Hut, all the way up to his work at Nintendo of America launching the Nintendo Switch.
Nintendo really does seem to go out of their way for their fans. We all have our gripes about some decisions the company makes, but it's hard to argue that Nintendo isn't always trying to put some smiles on faces. That doesn't just go for the games they put out, but also the fans who contact them.
Redditor Link101700 is a lifelong Nintendo fan, and he also happens to be a newly-recognized Eagle scout. He reached out Nintendo to share news of both details in his life, and believe it or not, Nintendo responded. Not only that, but Reggie himself got involved with the response! I'm sure Reggie is more than happy to respond to letters like this while he still has time left at the company.
Reggie will be leaving the world of Nintendo in April 2019, and fans are still trying to wrap their heads around the news. Some have turned to the world of art to show their appreciation for Nintendo's big guy and all he did. One of the best tributes we've seen comes from the artist above, who shares a timelapse of a fantastic piece of tribute art.
With Reggie leaving Nintendo in April, Nintendo has decided to gather together some of the big man's greatest video hits. Now you can look back on some of the major Reggie moments from the last few years. Hit up the link below to check out Nintendo's official Reggie Fils-Aime playlist on YouTube.
Congrats on such a prolific and epic career amigo. Way to impact lives - mine included! Thanks for creating fun!👏🏾👏🏾👊🏾— Dwayne Johnson (@TheRock) February 23, 2019
Okay, I need to know about this connection. How the hell does The Rock know Reggie Fils-Aime?! When did these two meet up?! Are they related somehow, or is this just a work thing? This is two of my favorite hobbies converging! I definitely need some explanation on this!
If you follow the amiibo scene closely, you most likely know who Gandakris is. She's been making amazing custom amiibo for awhile now, and she's covered a great number of subjects. That includes Reggie Fils-Aime himself! Gandakris actually sent Reggie one of her custom Reggie amiibo, but she had no idea if the package every made it to his desk.
Turns out she doesn't need to wonder anymore, as the custom amiibo can be spotted behind Reggie's left shoulder! Just one more example of Reggie really showing some love to fans.
Nintendo of America’s Reggie Fils-Aime is retiring, with Doug Bowser (yes, that's his last name) set to replace him as president.
