Root Film demo coming to the Japanese eShop on July 9th

Give this mystery visual novel a try!

Developer Kadokawa Games has announced that a demo for their upcoming mystery visual novel "Root Film" will be coming to the Japanese eShop on July 9th, 2020.

The first chapter of Rintarou Yagumo's story will be playable in the demo, alongside getting to go hands-on with the game's “Syntesthesia” and “MAX Mode” mechanics.

Root Film launches for Switch in Japan on July 30th, with a western release from publisher PQube also planned.

Neon Abyss demo now available on the eShop

A demo for the ever-evolving and fast-paced action roguelite

Wednesday, 1st July 2020 – Team17, in collaboration with Veewo Games, has today launched a demo for the fast-paced, roguelite Neon Abyss on Nintendo Switch™. The free download gives players a chance to jump right into the game’s frantic action, as they answer Hades’ call and pit themselves against the New Gods of mobile video, fast food, and more across four randomly generated levels. Neon Abyss will be released on all consoles and PC on 14th July.

With its unique and ever-evolving dungeon, together with the possibility for unlimited stackable effects of more than 400+ items strewn through the game, the options for players are endless. Each incarnation offers up the opportunity for players to spend faith gems on the skill tree to unlock perks and customise their playthrough.

A free demo has gone live on the Japanese eShop for Touhou Spell Bubble from publisher Taito. Before you purchase the full game for ¥5,800, why not play the trial first? The demo can be downloaded worldwide by using a Japanese Nintendo account.

Touhou Spell Bubble is a brand-new rhythm puzzle game based on the Touhou Project series. It adds rhythm game elements to bubble shooting-style puzzles with simple controls, which you can enjoy while listening to Touhou music arrangements.

Head to the Nintendo eShop on your Nintendo Switch system tomorrow to download the special demo, then get ready to play from 4/29 (Wed) at 11:00 p.m. PT — 5/6 (Wed) at 6:59 a.m. PT.
During the demo event, you'll be able to jump online* and fight it out in 4-on-4 Turf War battles with friends and other players who own the full game. You can also try out Ranked Battles and the Salmon Run co-op mode.
Just note that you'll need a strong internet connection and a Nintendo Switch Online membership to participate in the event. But if you don't have a membership, don't worry: You can try it out for free!

Visual Novel 'My Secret Pets!' announced for Switch, releasing April 30th

My Secret Pets! from developer Dogenzaka Lab has been announced to be coming to Nintendo Switch from D3 Publisher. This Japanese visual novel is all about your animal friends being suddenly transformed into men. Previously available on Steam, Google Play, and the iOS App Store, you'll now be able to experience the game for the first time on a console. Launching on the Japanese eShop on April 30th, 2020, you can preload the game now for ¥1,580 and 488 MB of storage space. Due to the English language being supported, it seems likely we'll have a western announcement sometime soon. If you want to try the game for yourself, a free demo is available by using a Japanese Nintendo Switch account.
