Konami code not working for Castlevania bloodlines on anniversary collection, switch version

So I'm trying to use the konami code to get 9 lives, but for some reason it isn't working.
Is it just me or is it happening to someone else too? What I'm trying to do is this:

From the title screen, go to the Options menu. Set "SE" to 073 and "BGM" to 05. Play both, then press start to return to the title screen. Let the screen fade back to the "Press Start" screen, then press start. On the title screen with the menu, enter the Konami Code (Up, Up, Down, Down, Left, Right, Left, Right, B, A). If you entered correctly, the game will chime. Now in the Options menu, you will have both the ability to play Expert mode and to have 9 lives

On the Nintendo Switch, you need to press "B" and "Y" at the end of the Konami code, instead of "B" and "A".
I had the same problem and hopefully this helps some people figure it out quicker. The rest of the instructions are correct You have to check the controls to see what attack and jump would be instead of the original controls. I haven't tried this using a single joycon, but I'm sure you could figure it out if you look at the controls.
