Fall Guys "Fall Forever" update available now

So it's gonna be forever...

A new update is available now for Fall Guys on the Nintendo Switch. This is the ‘Fall Forever’ update, which includes the brand new ‘Explore’ mode, along with many other changes and additions. See below for the full patch notes.

New Mode: Explore

Explore keeps the party going with a non-stop pool of creator made levels for you & your party to dive into! Not feeling the Level? Skip to the next one! Explore has been built with the feedback we’ve seen from Shows like Unexplored Adventures, see below for the features that make up this new Mode.

No more waiting for others

We’ve heard you don’t like waiting so this mode allows you to queue up for the next level the moment you cross the finish line.

Skip levels you don’t enjoy

Not feeling a Level? We’ve added a Skip function that will let you hop onto the next Level whenever you like.

Make new friends

Explore is a 10 player mode with matchmaking so you can meet new players and make new friends.

Less Stressful

For courses (formerly called races) we have set timers to 30 minutes to allow you to take the time you need. Since other beans can move onto the next level even if you haven’t finished, you don’t have to worry about holding back other players.

Earn Rewards

Had a long play session and need a break? Feel free. Rewards will be waiting for you based on how many Levels you’ve completed. You will also earn progress towards Challenges and the Fame Pass whenever you play Explore.

Explore Level Selection

Explore levels will be populated from an ever evolving algorithm of the most liked and newest creator made rounds. It is key for never before rounds to be in Explore so that it feels endless and so we can find the next great level. If you enjoy a level, let it be known with a like. If you load into a level you don’t care for, just hold the skip button and continue to explore. Levels will also automatically update if changes are detected. This means creators can update levels based on player feedback and see their changes go live.

Social Features

Fall Guys is better together so we have added ways for you to help and communicate with others. Use these new social features to better play as a team or offer help to other players.

Piggyback

You can now request help from your fellow bean by pressing the ‘Piggyback’ button. Once pressed you will see a Piggyback request appear above your Bean & when another player accepts you will be able to hop on their back. Piggyback lets two players connect together, with one carrying the other through tricky troubles or just for fun! Once you’re done you can hop off their back whenever you like.

Social Wheels

Easily let other Beans know what you’re thinking with new Social Wheels. With Emoticons, and eight Quick Phrases, you can share how you feel with a flick of the wheel!

Creative Updates

We have made multiple adjustments to creative to give you more options.

Creative Decals

More stickers to decorate your Levels with!

Longer Timers

Creative levels can now last longer! Up to 30 minutes!

Invisible Checkpoints

An aesthetic tweak that allows you to design levels without showing off checkpoints. We call that progress.

Jungle Background

Inspire some wild victories with the new Jungle Background for Creative Rounds!

Rotation Controllers

Add even more versatility to your Creative Levels with Rotation Controllers, allowing you to set a selection of objects to rotate. We’re excited to see what you create with this new tool!

Creative Objects Maximum

We have increased the maximum value of some objects you can place in Creative such as Slime Floors, Spinning Plates, Fans, Pendulums and more!

Beans made Better

We’ve made some significant changes to the bean and gameplay to make your time in the Blunderdome an overall better experience. Many of these changes have been guided by the Fall Guy’s community feedback and we’re excited to get your thoughts once they roll out.

Fall Guys Ragdoll & Recovery Changes

We’ve made some adjustments to the way the bean reacts to physics to reduce frustrations and deliver a more fun gameplay experience. You will still ragdoll when hit by obstacles but you will notice we’ve reduced moments where you ragdoll when you really shouldn’t. An example of this is when you’re going fast, land on your feet and then find yourself rolling on the floor. In addition to this, we’ve increased the speed of getting up and recovering from a knock, meaning you can get back into the race faster!

Jump Height and Acceleration

Your jump height and acceleration has been adjusted also, meaning all jumps will now have more leniency and you will reach top running speed faster. We believe this will make Fall Guys more fun, dynamic and a bit more forgiving

Mid-air control

We want players to have a bit more control to reposition their bean when airborne, and to save themselves from elimination if they find themselves being yeeted through the sky.

Landing Target

You will see a landing market below your Bean when performing big jumps to guide you to a safe spot. You will be able to turn this off in settings for those that don’t wish to use it.

CHECK YOUR CREATIVE LEVELS!

Due to the improvements above, you may find you need to make changes to your Creative Levels. We wanted to give you a heads up so you know what things to look out for when reviewing your Level. Players can make jumps they couldn’t before This could mean players can jump out of your Level or find ways to navigate obstacles in new ways.

Launchers don’t yeet as far

If you’ve used a Yeetus or Flipper to cross a gap, it’s worth checking to make sure that leap is still possible due to the changes we have made to the Bean physics/ragdolling.

Obstacle Changes

We’ve had to make some tweaks to Obstacles such as the size of ‘Padded Walls’ in order to keep those more athletic beans inside the boundaries of your level. If your Level uses these, it is worth checking to see if the design needs altering. We know having to make changes to your existing Creative Levels may be frustrating but we believe that some short term challenges are worth it for the improvements to the game we have listed above. We will be taking a close look at your feedback once we roll out these changes.

Nintendo has experienced varying degrees of success over the years, from dominant industry force, to scrappy underdog. Thanks to the popularity of the Switch in recent years, it looks like they’re very much back to being the former. In fact, according to game sales analyst Pierre485 on Twitter, Nintendo’s profits have been greater during the Switch’s lifespan than their total profits made between 1981 and 2016.

Check out a graph illustrating this point below:

Examining the graph, we can see that the previous most profitable era for Nintendo was around 2007 to 2010, which was of course when the Wii was in full swing. Then, there’s a big dip immediately after, stemming from the less than stellar sales of the Wii U. However, since the release of the Switch in 2017, those numbers have been steadily climbing, with a particularly huge spike in 2021.

Considering how successful Nintendo has been over the years, it’s pretty amazing that they’ve managed to achieve a greater level of success than in all those years combined in such a short time. In fact, this still holds true even when accounting for inflation. There’s no doubt that the Switch is a phenomenon, though other factors surely include Nintendo’s foray into mobile games, theme parks, and blockbuster films.

Will Nintendo be able to maintain this level of profit when moving on to their next console? Time will tell!

Nintendo UK has shared a new trailer for Luigi’s Mansion 2 HD titled “A rude awakening”. The two and a half minute long trailer is basically the entire opening cut scene that players will experience when they first start the game. Check it out now to see how far the new version’s graphics have come since the original on 3DS! Luigi’s Mansion 2 HD will be available on Switch on June 27, 2024.

For an even better look at how this Switch revamp compares to the original, you can see a video below that puts today’s trailer side-by-side with footage straight from the 3DS version. You might be surprised with just how much has changed!

It’s time to clean house! Join the faint-of-heart hero Luigi on a spooky quest in Luigi’s Mansion 2 HD for Nintendo Switch.

In this visually enhanced adventure, you’ll visit the chilling locales of the eerie Evershade Valley, a place where until recently, the peculiar Dark Moon hung in the sky. According to ghost researcher Professor E.Gadd, it pacified the ghosts of the valley…that is until one night when the Dark Moon mysteriously shattered! Now, the place is screaming and teeming with troublemaking ghosts! Can Luigi recover the missing pieces of the Dark Moon and restore peace to the valley?

Luckily, Professor E. Gadd has equipped Luigi with the right tools for the job, like the enemy-stunning Strobulb and the trusty Poltergust 5000, which can vacuum up ghosts, objects or interact with the environment. Luigi’s paranormal escapades will take him to all sorts of places, including a former plant research lab, a broken-down clock factory and an icy, snow-covered mine, just to name a few.

Up to four players can team up to take on the challenges of the ScareScraper, a haunted building teeming with ghosts and challenges not found in the main adventure. Recruit your fellow ghost hunters to scale the terrifying tower via local wireless play or online.

First 4 Figure recently opened up pre-orders for their statue of Isabelle from Animal Crossing: New Horizons. That statue won’t be available until later this year, but the company is already promising more Animal Crossing statues in the future.

In a recent Facebook post, First 4 Figures shared an image of their Isabelle statue alongside two mysterious silhouettes. In the post, they wrote, “Here’s Isabelle with the rest of the Animal Crossing crew! We’ve covered ‘em up for now, but we’ll unveil them when the time is right! Can you guess who the others are?”

Of course, any Animal Crossing fan worth their salt can easily tell that the figures in question are Tom Nook and K.K. Slider. Better yet, it looks like the figures’ backdrops go together when all three statues are placed next to each other. We likely won’t see Nook or Slider released until sometime next year, but it’s exciting to know there’s more on the way! Stay tuned as we wait for First 4 Figures to share more details.

The Resident Evil franchise has had a checkered history when it comes to live action film adaptations. Paul W.S. Anderson made seven Resident Evil movies starring Milla Jovovich, which most fans rejected for their lack of loyalty to the source material. More recently, Resident Evil: Welcome to Raccoon City rebooted the series with a more traditional take, but it still wasn’t very well received. Now, rumor has it that yet another attempt is in the works.

According to a report at Insider Fandom, Screen Gems has almost finalized a script and will begin production on a new Resident Evil movie soon. Screen Gems is a Sony owned studio, the same production studio that worked on the previous film, Welcome to Raccoon City. Whether or not this new film will be a direct sequel or take things in an entirely new direction remains to be seen.

Encouragingly, the source indicates that Sony is interested in spending more money on this new entry than the previous one, although budget talks are still ongoing. Of course, budget isn’t necessarily an indication of quality, but it could mean they’re taking the production more seriously. After so many Resident Evil movies (and TV shows), it doesn’t seem like we’ll ever stop getting new attempts at adaptations. If this rumor turns out to be legitimate, let’s hope this one is the one that finally satisfies everyone!

Donkey Kong is one of Nintendo’s most popular mascots, and yet, we haven’t had a brand new Donkey Kong platformer since Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze in 2014. One possible reason we haven’t seen any movement on this front, is that there was a Donkey Kong game in the works from developer Vicarious Visions, but it was canceled. However, there’s never been any confirmation on this front one way or the other.

In a new deep dive video from Did You Know Gaming, they examine all the possible angles of this rumored Donkey Kong game. According to at least one source, it was a 3D platformer known as Donkey Kong Freedom, which included Pauline as a playable character. Vicarious Visions was the game’s original developer, but it was eventually given to Nintendo EPD in 2018, and hasn’t been heard of since.

Did You Know Gaming managed to get a hold of multiple Vicarious Visions employees who were able to confirm that a Donkey Kong project of some kind was once in the works with the developer. That said, the details may not be the same as what was reported online. To get the full story, you’ll need to watch the above video, which also includes a section on Activision Blizzard and some of their other cancelled projects.

With the potential of a new Nintendo console on the horizon, gamers are hunting down secrets wherever they can find them. The latest batch of goodies comes from dataminer OatmealDome, who discovered some intriguing tidbits by analyzing the newly released Endless Ocean Luminous.

Endless Ocean Luminous was created using Nintendo’s internal game engine known as Bezel. According to OatmealDome, there have been some tweaks made to Bezel that are evident when examining the game’s source code. It seems that the latest version of the engine now allows for games to output at up to 240 frames per second, which is a far cry from the previous max of 60fps on Switch. This change is apparently coupled with the ability to run a game with Variable Refresh Rate, a display technique that lets games with varying frame rates run more smoothly.

Although OatmealDome did find evidence of these changes in the engine’s code, that doesn’t mean any games are currently taking advantage of them. This could be evidence of features coming to a future Switch successor, or it could simply be leftover traces of Nintendo developers playing around. Either way, it’s interesting to get an idea of what might be going on with Nintendo’s tech that we aren’t privy to. Stay tuned to see if anything significant comes of this find.

Charging Bulrushes, bouncing Hoppos and a battle with the smallest baddie in town?! Yup, sounds like a pretty exciting day with Jordan as she plays Super Mario Bros. Wonder again. Ready to help Jordan take it all on? Let’s Play!

Star Wars is coming to Fall Guys on May 7th, 2024

Fall. Or fall not. There is no try.

04 May 2024
by quence 0

The Beans from Fall Guys are ringing in May the 4th this year with a special upgrade — the announcement of new Star Wars content in-game, featuring four new costumes and other fun themed to Star Wars: Return of the Jedi.

Starting next week, dress your Beans as Han Solo joy-riding on the top of a Millennium Falcon and his faithful co-pilot Chewbacca, heroes of the Rebel Alliance. Or join the Empire with costumes modeled after Boba Fett’s Mandalorian armor and classic stormtrooper gear.

The collaboration also includes some in-game cosmetics, like a Sarlacc Pit escape sequence perfect for devouring your enemies and a Carbon Freezing Chamber element, inspired by Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back, that can trap your Beans in Carbonite.

The Fall Guys campaign will be live May 7 through May 20 and you can watch the trailer above! May the Beans be with you.
