This new schedule is working out so well for me. It's also giving you guys more news and less downtime on the site! It's win-win for all, I think! I sure hope you're enjoying it. Now it's time for me to get some precious sleep and do it all over again! See you in a few, short hours.

I know that Spyro games used to be quite popular. They weren't the biggest game on the block, but they definitely had a very loyal following. Over the years, changes in developers lead to some issues with fans, and then the series seemed to fall apart a bit. That lead many of us worrying that each new Spyro release announced would end up taking the purple dino further into obscurity.

Well, that downward trend may seem to be reversing itself with Skylanders: Spyro's Adventure. Spyro may look and play different, but this latest installment in the franchise is getting some pretty great reviews. This appears to be an evolution of the Spyro character. While it may be lateral instead of forward, it's clear that something about this approach is clicking with consumers.

From what I've read and personally heard from a handful of retailers, the title is selling like crazy. Retailers are quickly going through their stock, and that includes their allotment of Spyro action figures. Of course, those action figures are key to experiencing new and different content in the game, and the portal they interact with make for the major selling point on this title.

I can't remember any other time when a Spyro title sold so quickly that retailers were having trouble keeping it on shelves. Did you happen to pick up a copy of the 3DS or Wii version? Do you plan on grabbing one for the holiday season?
