Then why is Lightning there?
That's precisely what I was about to say. Although I'd take her over Cloud any day of the week, not that they aren't completely interchangeable nowadays. Lightning is not the "best" or the "brightest" of the Final Fantasy series. Her inclusion makes no sense beyond (perhaps) matching the polygon counts of the other characters included.
That said, there isn't any actual problem with her being here. The creator is still certainly entitled to his/her opinion of Lightning, but it doesn't make sense in the context of the pictures.
Simply awesome
It's awesome that Sam Gideon is there. Out of all the suit wearing heroes, his is the coolest looking in my opinion.
No Freeman? No point.

Agreed, ZSS + Arm Cannon looks a little awkward. Otherwise pretty awesome stuff!
Awesome... save for the distinct lack of Gordon Freeman.
Not to mention his game deserves far, FAR more attention than it received.
Are these models direct rips from their respective games? That might help explain Gordon's absence, since Valve hasn't made a "complete" Gordon model since the GoldSrc days.
Looks like I've found a new wallpaper. I just kinda wish Samus was displaying her entire Varia Suit in the action scenes.
This would be my guess as to the cause behind Gordon's absence. Garry's mod has no shortage of Gordon Freeman models, but he hasn't made much of an "appearance" in the "modern" Half-Life games.
That said, I'd definitely be interested in more from this series. In fact, I think I may just go do some GMod right now!

Right. I'm sure there's plenty of 3rd party models, if they would just bother to go find them.
Valve uses a "Grayman" for the Half-Life 2 games, which is basically an extremely low-poly "husk" of Gordon, with no textures or animations. Since the player is never normally placed outside the first person perspective, Valve just trimmed off the additional technical and logistical overhead a fully functional model would bring.

Samus not being in her armor during the firefight pics makes absolutely no sense, otherwise I like the pics.
