Did Iwata confirm a Wii U hard drive or is there a translation error?

Let's take a look at two versions of the same transcript, shall we? Earlier today, we posted up a blurb from Nintendo's recent investors' meeting pertaining to E3. In particular, here's a quote about the Wii U's storage space. This blurb comes from the English version.

"We haven’t said anything about the hard drive that we’ll be including with the system itself. But we have said, through the USB connection, consumers will be able to take advantage of a wide range of the hard drives that are available in the market, and for quite cheap now, to add memory to their system however they like."

Now here's the first sentence fro the same blurb in the Japanese version of the transcript, with a direct English translation.

"We have not said that we will be including a hard drive with the Wii U system." The rest of the reply is the same."

Did the English version confirm a hard drive for the Wii U, or is this a simple screw-up?
