Coming from the Two Tribes Twitter...

We moved the processing of audio to another CPU core to free processing for the game world. There's a bit of work involved to make sure all cores communicate properly, making the audio a good fit since it's a separate system. The result is a smoother frame rate and less hiccups, since the main core doesn't have to worry about audio. End of lesson.

This is just what Iwata was taking about in the most recent Iwata Asks about Wii U. I guess the decisions Nintendo made are already helping out devs!
