Skylanders Giants is excellent, and the Wii U version is a fine port, but until the near-field communication technology on the GamePad is used in the game, this version is unfortunately hampered.

Is there NFC on the other platforms (I really don't know)? I never heard about it, and there isn't, is that really "hampered"?
(I understand the kit is wired, but why focus on the wfc instead of just wireless in general?)
